It took me many tries and gameplay sessions of 30 minutes to finally complete Evil Within 1 because that game had me on edge so often, along with the frustration of trying to survive and solve puzzles while monsters were after me. The demon Laura was the absolutely worst, but creepiest monster in that game too. RE7, the father chasing you was the worst. The rest was easier compared to that nightmarish sense of dread. That's what these games are great at. Creating a sense of dread and tension. Not fun, but a good horror experience for a video game. |

Question does this game and Biohazard have anything to do with the virus being let loose? Cause it really doesn’t look that way. It doesn’t even have the Resident Evil feel to it. It feels like a horror game just with Resident Evil in name.

Not sure of the changes to to RE 3 exactly. It involved Jill in someway. I think they are trying to make her more prominent in the future of the series is is speculation. I'm a huge RE nerd so always looking for info. lol Last edited by TecmoZack; 01-27-2021 at 02:16 PM. |

I'm not a RE player, but one video about the demo referenced what looked like the Umbrella logo on the floor mosaic in a hallway? Perhaps the T Virus has its origins further back in time than we thought. I'm not an expert, but I enjoy the lore of games like this.

As for the other questions, yes this is a mainline RE game any connected to the franchise. You’ll play as Ethan, the character from RE7 and that was directly tied into the series with meeting [Show spoiler] at the end.

I can’t say I’ve experienced this. The demo is running in a native 4K in a mostly 60fps, it’s pretty crisp! Are you on your ‘game’ tv preset? Have you tried checking the sharpness? Is the contrast right etc. Not sure what else to suggest.

Yes. It’s a sequel and you play as Ethan Winters, same dude you played as in 7. Just not this demo as it’s just a visual showcase and not a full demo with actually gameplay/combat etc. A true demo is reportedly coming in March.

To add to my above post, if the whole image is blurry or whatever something is wrong.
Overall it looks very good and crisp. It just didn’t wow me and there’s some blurry textures here and there. Stood out as I played after playing the Gears 5 DLC and some Forza Horzion 4 and the XSX upgrade versions of those games are the best looking games I’ve played on next gen yet. It’s also an art style thing I suppose as I didn’t think RE7 looked all that great either and this demo was just a higher resolution version of that style. The lighting and HDR was quite good though. |

I have a Series X as well. Hivebusters especially looks superb on the new hardware. Personally I think RE Village is the best I've seen so far out of both consoles but it's close and I certainly will not judge your opinion. |

I was looking for very low res blurry textures but didn't spot much. The textures aren't great or anything, and there are some pixelated textures like the main floor pattern under the Chandelier hanging above, that look cheap when you bend down to look at the floor.
But overall, not bad visually and it has good artistry behind it. |

Apparently Eurogamer found that the game looked great on PS5 but when you did get up close to the actual textures of the game, they lost that detailing they appeared to have at a distance.
So i do think there's an optimisation they hopefully can try do and sharpen that aspect up on texture quality a tad but it's very, very nice looking for the majority. |
