Here's our expected ship dates for each series:

X6700H and X4700 week of June 15th

X3700 Week of July 13th or sooner

X2700 and AVR-S960H Week of August 10th or sooner

We have our email link on our 2020 Denon webpage so questions or those interested can easily email me and I also just put up our secure on-line shopping cart for the X6700H and X4700H.

@RobertZohn You mean S960H?
The 5 channel S650H will continue onwards until Q1 or Q2 of next year.

Since I don't really plan on going above 5.1.2 for another few years to come, either the S960H or the X2700H sounds like the right receiver for me pretty much unless I do want more future-proof options, then the X3700H for me (don't need Auro-3D due to barely any content out there).

While the Denon AVR-X6700H is a very nice A/V receiver that offers more features when compared to most other brands on the market. The one negative is that out of the 7 rear HDMI inputs, only one of the HDMI inputs accepts up to native 8K video. The other 6 HDMI inputs are up to native 4K only. Therefore one is limited to connecting only one 8K device like possible a future 8K optical disc player in 2026 (all 7 HDMI inputs are HDCP 2.3 and the big question will be if the movie studios will allow HDCP 2.3 for 8K or will require something more secure like HDCP 3.3 which has not been invented yet).

Hopefully in the years to come for future new A/V receiver models (1-3 years from now) that all HDMI inputs will accept a native 8K input. This is one of the negative things about buying first generation 8K equipment, one is limited to only one 8K HDMI input. It might have cost another $500 to make all the HDMI inputs 8K compatible.

I am hoping in the future a universal motherboard design with add on boards is created for the A/V receiver industry. A lot more consumers would upgrade there A/V receivers if such a design was created like we see in desktop computers. Of course when it comes to flat panel screens making them upgradable would not be possible or practical since the physical screen display has to be changed out to improve the resolution, brightness level, etc. But the entire A/V receiver industry could have a major surge in popularity with a add on board design.

I was tempted to pick up one of the new AVRs since I need one ASAP. I think I’m gonna grab a used or refurbed x4500 and buy an anthem whenever they update them.

Just the thought of disconnecting everything from my AVR and boxing it up for shipment makes me shudder. Spending the next 2-4 weeks wondering if my AVR would survive the round trip shipping would be a steady source of unneeded anxiety. Having to pay to have it all done would be the cherry on top; no thanks.

A HDMI hardware upgrade was once offered for my Denon AVR 4806 and between the expense, the hassle, and the shipping worries, I declined then as I would now.
A updated 8500 is coming called the X8500HA.

Today we're shipping all of our Denon AVR-4700H and AVR-6700H orders!

Nice to see a new product launch that ships the day it's promised.

I've been waiting for the new 8K receivers from Yamaha, but having read all the specs for the X2700H, I think that it will do everything I need it to do.

The Yamaha's are still vaporware ATM, so the Denon is top of my list.

I'm just happy that the X2700H is the same size as the X2400H. I just redid my media cabinet and cabled it all up with 8K HDMI cables from monoprice, I would've been devastated if the receiver didn't fit.

8K HDMI = 48 Gbps. Didnít know those were readily available.

I know the X8500H will have an HDMI 2.1 upgrade but will it have a DTS:X Pro upgrade as well?
It's weird that the only AVR that supports 13.2ch channels out of the box still can't output anything more than 7.1.4ch for DTS:X.

It supports Dolby Atmos and Auro 3D @ 13.2

I know that but 11.2ch will still be the maximum for DTS:X unless Denon updates it.
Also, I really hope that Denon soon releases a 17.2ch receiver which can output up to 9.2.6ch for Dolby Atmos and DTS:X and 13.2ch with Auro-3D.
