I would say all it takes is one death to a college athlete but that has already happened. So I guess the price tag now moves to death a very well known athlete and/or affect a big program.
Talk about a pickle.

Cam Newton's contract looks like a "show us you still have it!" kind of deal. A lot of money in incentives.

Wonder how the NFL daft would work if the NCAA cancels its season... Doubt it will happen but it would def be interesting if it does.

They're already doing up their draft boards, would just have to go off private workouts and current footage, I'm guessing.

Canít mess with the draft. For a quarter century thatís the Super Bowl for Dallas. Their record in May/June is much better than December/January.

Hard to picture the season being cancelled, but as we can all see, things are definitely spiraling out of control.

Looking forward to seeing Cam play! Unfortunately this is the first time in a long time I'm not planning on getting any tickets - not that I'm really expecting fans to be able to attend anyway.

Oh well. A QB like Cam definitely makes me feel better about our chances in a post Brady era

Good on them for bringing some normalcy to 2020.
If this were the NCAA (or any other league for that matter), they'd be given the death penalty by now.

Fining and donning a 3rd round pick for the 7th+ time caught cheating (and that's not even counting muting opponent's headsets and stealing their playbooks) pretty much amounts to a slap on the wrist.

Gabe Morency said it best: they can't help themselves, and why stop? It's not like Goodell does anything. And the saddest part is he's not wrong.

Also i am a big horse racing fan/$$bettor.
Theyve been running big races like the belmont stakes last wk but without fans.
WOW does it really take away from the feeling that its a big event.

Dont know if that will be the same feeling with no fans in the stands football games.
BUT if it is it really will be bad.

The Pats could’ve played with one player less on both sides of the ball and still destroyed Cincy.
I think they are 5-1 against Cincy going back to 2003, and basically crushed them in 4/5 wins.
Lol, yeah they really needed more game film.

What they did was essentially jaywalking, the crap part of this is the guy the NFL banned and made the fall guy really didn't do a thing wrong. He didn't work for Bill, he was filming something i believe for Kraft productions. What ever i get the reason behind the punishment but why ruin a innocent guys life in the process, sorry that will never make sense to me.

Whatever i know the haters are going to hate regardless, i just don't like seeing a guy have his career wrecked because of the need to pander to the butt hurt crowd.

I’m sure Kraft took care of him, as he was just an innocent bystander it seems.
Just shows the league is still trying to catch up to New England.
6/20 Championships during the BB era, with a revolving door of players and staff. Lol, the only thing the Pats sucked at was cheating. Every team does. If you ain’t cheatin’ you ain’t tryin’.

Richard Sherman is being Richard Sherman on Twitter. He's upset at the Cam Newton deal, rhetorically asking how many league MVPs have had to sign for the minimum.

I can name Shaun Alexander and Adrian Peterson.

Kurt Warner named himself.

I do like Sherman, well maybe now because he is a Niner more so. Historically he has some smart arguments but he also has the tendency to get too political when the situation doesn't necessarily warrant it. The only one who has any right to be upset about the Cam deal is Cam and from everything I have seen across social media, he seems pretty happy with it. It's a one year, incentive laden, prove it deal - for both him and the team. And by the way he had been pretty quiet since being let go from CAR, it kinda seems like him and the Pats knew that it was a matter of timing for this deal to come to fruition.
Also worth noting, he was the MVP five years ago now, the last two seasons were pretty injury riddled and he wasn't in MVP form. Sometimes the obvious answer is the correct one

Oh yeah and I can't see what Sherman says on Twitter. The day they lost to the Pats in the Super Bowl he went on a blocking spree and I was in that spree. I didn't even post anything particularly sh*tty, just some of those hilarious *ss memes that were going around that day. For a guy who sh-t talks and trolls so much he sure couldn't take it that day.

The guy just always seems to be angry about something imo... Though i bet if any other team had signed Cam and even for less money we would of not heard a peep from Sherman imo, he clearly hates the Patriots and don't necessarily blame him after his team blew a Superbowl win to them.

But the guy should mind his own business, or perhaps be mad at the 31 other teams who didn't even think to offer him a contract! Right now he needs to prove he still has it, if he does the money will without question follow. Yes it is a risk like much of everything in life it seems, we all know the saying about risk and reward.

Zachary Levi to play Kurt Warner in his biopic. Knew his movie would come sooner or later.

This is meant for the NBA post right? But yes I do think they report on the 7th or 8th.

I just donít get the selfish outlook being offered of hey I hope the championship contenders get there safely. Just cancel the stupid season already. Itís clearly not worth the risks.
