Been meaning to start it since it aired but finally picked up Flip Flappers (came out here earlier this month but I held out until JBs B1G1F offer)

About half way and absolutely loving it so far, heard it dips a bit after a staff change towards the end but I've heard stellar things from a good friend and it's blowing me away so far. Of course steer clear if you aren't into cute Magical Girl lesbians (looking at you GwG) but that's kind of my oxygen

Almost looks like SHAFT and Studio Trigger had a magical girl baby.

A bit? I have never liked a show so much at the beginning only to hate it to the point I won't buy it (unless it goes to $10 or something) because of the ending. So disappointing.

That's sad to hear. I was planning on watching it here soon myself.

I mean I've got two episodes left and I'm still enjoying it. Doesn't quite have the spectacle of the first half or so but it's still standing out for me somewhat.

What got to me was Papika's origin (completely ruined the character for me) and the complete ignoring of all the the other characters, and the one they teased for so long , introduced, and then that was it, completely irrelevant. It's like they went "f it here's a completely inexplicable happy ending". This had to be a 2 cour show that got told they weren't getting a 2nd cour just wrap it up the best you can.

Caught up and then started some other stuff over the past couple of days. No ratings yet, I don’t want to set myself up for disappointment. I’m really enjoying them all, especially Darling. For once, probably the weakest show in this very, very strong bunch is Academia. It’s a real goldmine this season and I’ve just scratched the surface.

DARLING in the FRANXX (ep 8-18)
Hinamatsuri (ep 1-7)
My Hero Academia 3rd Season (ep 1-5)
MegaloBox (ep 1-2)
FMP Invisible Victory (ep 1-5)

All great choices so far. Hinamatsuri is amazing so far and just a fun show. I am also loving Darling and am very excited where it is going into the final stretch of episodes. The worst thing about the series is the fanbase honestly. Very toxic.

Absolutely agree. The venom towards FRANXX made me curious and now that I’m caught up, I honestly don’t see the big deal but it reminded me why I largely dropped out of anime for about 6 years. It’s only gotten worse. The hive mind, toxic and parasitic culture. I see and hear enough of that stuff in the real world, I don’t want to see or hear that in anime.

Hmm, I see none of this toxic fanbase that you are referring to - but then I just don't do any social media or MAL or ANN forums or wherever this toxicity is appearing. Problem solved - I only have to put up with all you guys on here, lol...

Honestly is extends far beyond anime, I can't stand fans of just about anything- in a general hivemind sort of sense at least (and fandom culture as a whole). It's exhausting and anyone in a healthy state of mind would do well to take caution in engaging that sort of bad energy.

Darling in the FranXX eps 17-18 last night. I've been watching this series on and off over the past weeks and it was Ok for being out of my anime preference zone. I was at least enjoying the scifi, mystery, and drama parts - the silly battles and FranXX, eh, not so much. Then episode 18 happened, and I turned it off mid way through; I probably won't bother finishing the series.
