Default Blu-ray Compatibility with Projector

Hi Guys,

I made the leap today and purchased a Sony BDP-S350 Blu-ray player. I currently have a Sony Upconvert dvd player hooked up to my projector using an HDMI cable. The projector is an Infocus X2 SVGA projector. The thing I am wondering about is will the Blu-ray player work with the projector? I know I will not be getting the full benefit that Blu-ray has to offer, but hopefully I will still be able to watch movies until I have enough money to purchase a 1080p projector. The upconvert player using the HDMI cable works fine with the projector. Thanks for all your help.

Yes it will but it's limited to 480p. This is a 800x600 4x3 projector so it's very limited. You'll probably see a difference with blu ray because it have less compression artefact than DVD... but not that much. To have to FULL befinit of Blu-ray you'll need a 1080p Display..

The two major difference you'll see is in the lack of compression issues that are on DVD and the wider color range, if you got it calibrated right.
