This appears to be the counterpart to the AVR-254 over here in the US. Its actually a better deal since it has pre-outs should you want to add an amp later, but yeah the AVR-260 replaced this model. If HDMI 1.4 and 3D support don't matter to you then get the AVR-255 since its cheaper and the better buy. The firmware is also more matured on this model whereas the newer models may still have some kinks to be worked out.

The 260 has the preouts as well unlike the 2600 but is also 50 watts vs 65 for the 2600.

Ahh...I didn't notice that the 260 had pre-outs. Too bad they didn't offer them with the 2600.

Went to the store today and found out they were sold out. So that didn't work out
Looks like it's back to the HK 260 unless you can suggest anything else?

I'm glad you love it, was hard to find something that would really make you appreciate your speakers but I'm glad the HK did, most people agree that they do sound beautiful and gives good ouputs and you were already aware of the little potantial issues with HDMI.

Now I hope for you everything goes well with the unit as it did for me with my 254.

Congrats!!!
