This is the part that is scary

By the time this launches I will have paid off my XBR55X900A...so this works out perfect for me.

Just installed a FMPX-1 Sony Media Player on a XBR-65X900A 4K TV with a STR-DN1040 receiver and PS3. Had to leave on a trip so only had a week to play, but so far what I have seen is outstanding. The pre-recorded 4K movies and shorts on the Media player are a step up from 2K IMO. Watched the Hobbit Blu-ray upscaled and it was beautiful. Everything I have watched so far has not disappointed. Will be back home in a week so I will update my review then.

by the way, did they send a Sony tech out to you? I read reviews of this on Amazon and apparently Sony sent out techs to change mainboard on their 4K TV's so they are now HDMI 2.0 to receive true 4K content from that media player

Default I suggest we get more coverage of 4K

Yes... I have redirected my interest and money toward Sony's 4K movies on their new player and 4K TV. I have loved everything so far. I want more, and I would like to read about it here. My report: I thought Super VHS was the way to go. I thought "Lay-Zer" discs were the way to go. I jumped for Sony's first dvd player and I jumped on board for Sony's first blu-ray player. I had to have Sony's XBR 8 which is super-fantastic, and their new 65XBR900A is incredible. Best home images that I have ever seen. It all works beautifully. It delivers smoothly. The carton that the TV comes in is a masterpiece of design. One man CAN deliver it. It would be best to have a two man set up. But ONE guy set mine up... very fast. No phone calls no fuss. I had read the full manual and I offered helpful advice. I think that two months later they are rolling. I would like to hear about new movies coming... so I won't buy blu-ray of something that's com'n up in 4K. This is it. It's a modern world. Maybe this will be my last upgrade. (Old guy talking.) This TV looks better than any home device I have seen for 1080p as well. Everything else including SD is better.
