There's only been written 2 books about bluray, and one of them doesn't even cover HDMV - and the other is very sparse. The publicly available documents from the blu-ray association is no better than the manual you'll find in the glove compartment of an old car - it will tell you that there's a radio and the max. tire pressure...and then it stops there.

You mean the mechanics of encoding Video for Blu-Ray using H264/AVC? Try the Doom9 forum.

It was more the specs part - why some things has to be done in this and this way. Some authoring programs might let me do things outside of specs while others won't - and I would, of couse, like to stay inside what must and should be done to make sure that the disks actually play in most players...

I think it would a great idea if you can be able to customize your blu ray viewing experience furthermore by implementing your own personalized, unique edits to your favorite movies, using special features you can add the deleted scenes to your own discretion. I often wish movies to be longer, even special extended editions have deleted scenes I wish I could add to the movie.
