Default Anyone able to get SE7EN???

For a week I've been trying to buy SE7EN from any local retailer. But, no one has received it - that includes BestBuy, Borders, Barnes & Noble and FYE. Was his title delayed?? And, if any of you got it, how was the PQ??

There are several sellers on Amazon stating they have it in stock and ready to ship. Try one of them.

This got a US release? I knew it was released in Canada a while ago, but that wasn't OAR so I wasn't interested.

It was only released in Canada; not yet in the U.S.... I sold mine because it looked better on StarzHD than it did on Blu-ray... Plus Starz used the OAR and didn't crop it like the BD version...

There is no US release. The Canadian blu-ray is not OAR, so I'd recommend passing on it.

SE7EN was shot in 2.35:1 whereas the cropped version is 1.78:1. they cut some of the movie off to make it fit the screen. most of us on this site are purists and get highly irritated at cropped movies

Original Aspect Ratio. Se7en is 2.35:1 (has black bars even on widescreen TVs). The Canadian blu-ray, however, crops off some of the sides to make it 1.78 or 1.85:1 (no black bars on widescreen tvs)

SE7EN was actually shot Super35, so it may be a case where they opened up the mattes to fit 16:9 televisions - as opposed to cropping the sides.

But in either case, it's not being displayed in its original aspect ratio, which is never a good thing.

Yeah the blu disc is open-matte at 1.78:1. So there's no cropping, just extra un-intended image. Wait for an official US release before buying...

ah. sorry for a bit of mis-info in my post than. Didn't realize it was open-matte. But yes, either way, it's bad.

Yep. An interlaced transfer + an incorrect aspect ratio + lousy covert art = totally lame.
