Default Netflix claims customers prefer HD-DVD over Blu-ray but I don't see a HD DVD section

Did you guy read the article awhile ago. But the funny thing is when you go to new releases every tuesday. I have never ever seen a section for HD-DVD only new releases for Bluray.

It could be that that's one of the few places that rents hd-dvd.
And besides hddvd only have one good release per month (Dec-Bourne, Nov-Shrek, Oct-Transformers).

Yep. People who are cheap and like to rent (and/or pirate, I might add) prefer Dud. Everyone else prefers Blu-ray.

The real reason why HD DVD may be more popular at Netflix is because the Blu-ray owners got sick of the poor service. I've heard about it so much here.

People are more likely to rent HD DVD compared to Blu-ray because they don't want to end up with loads of movies on their shelves in a dead format when HD DVD dies.

So, it is not because "Reed Hastings" (Netflix founder) is on the board of microsoft?

Makes me wonder why I almost always get HDDVD new releases from Netflix the week they come out, and it usually takes weeks to get a new BD release.

My wife and I rent from Netflix, with no issues. Only problem is, we take so long between movies that we average 1 Blu-Ray a month. Our queues are mixed with so many movies that aren't available on BD or HD-DVD.

You have to set your preferences to HD DVD for them to show up, same with BD.

I suppose the move by Blockbuster to expand HDM support with Blu-ray only has given the Blu-ray owner some options, while leaving HD DVD owners with Netflix and the limitted set of trial Blockbuster's that have HD DVD.

HD? Yeah, they've got it.

Also because--when HD started out, and users thought they were the "smarter" ones (hah! )--HD attracted more "normal" DVD users who knew that if it was a disk, you rented it from Netflix...End of story.
While most Blu fans I read on this board seem to have time-warped back to 1998, with fans obsessively thinking they have to buy every title they didn't see in theaters--And board postings of "So many new titles this week, it's too expensive!", and "I just bought 'Mr. Brooks', is it any good?"

(I mean, I'm as Blu-loyal as anyone, and I know the whole "Push the sales numbers" thing, but face facts--At the other end, this one IS partially your fault:
No, really, what is it with the '98 no-DVD's-at-Blockbuster "Rental doesn't exist" buying thing; if it isn't intentionally nostalgic, that's just weird!)
