Default eproductwars adds new graph style

http://www.eproductwars.com/dvd/index.cfm

The odd thing is that the few dark spots HD-DVD has are often ties.... why do they get the color on ties? Hang your cursor over each block for stats...

Some of the ties are dark blue, some are black, but you're right in that they should choose some "neutral" color for these.

Cool chart in that it clearly shows the major whacking BR has given HD DED since early in the year.

I think they are supposed to be dark blue, but surrounded by Blu they look black. So, someone felt it necessary to try to reduce the thrashing. But, still it is a sea of Blu.

What is interesting is that eproductwars and HDgamerDB continue to get different current numbers from the same data.

Should have use: red/blue and green.

3 different shades of a cold color make it really hard to see sometimes.

Great, now the site loads even slower. I stopped going there after it crashed for hours during the buy Blu-ray day. Rumor is it's run by HD DVD fanboys. I find the alternate site to be much better.

I think it's cool, the overwhelming blue looks great. But whoever picked the other colors is a moron.

Just funny that they even bother going back to 1Q06 as is BD was even in the game really. At least gives HD-DVD fans something to look back on. Also the metrics they use are all rankings based... at least 1 chart just has to track total untils sold per day.

I also like the chart at the very bottom, indicating google searches for HD-DVD vs. Blu. That really doesn't say much, other than people are searching for High Definition Video/DVD. Not necesarily HD-DVD in particular. Most people who do searches for it (in my mind) are probably researching HD availability, not owners of either format.

Actually, HDGamerDB is definitely run by an HD DVD fanboy. He posts all the time on AVSF. But, he also says the data on eproductwars site is often wrong.

Certainly, they often aren't consistent on the current averages.

I love tracking stats, what is the alternate site you use, is it the HDgamerDB or something else. Where can I find HDgamerDB. I tried searching yahoo and the forum search here but couldn't find a link.

I like the format of the new graph - although the choice of colors is terrible. It is interesting how the results of the HD-DUD buy-a-thon shows up as a little island.

Go Blu.

Rup.
