Yeah looks like DVD only and then I looked it up on iTunes and the preorder includes 4K with Dolby Vision. And us physical media collectors just get a DVD.

Well we will wait and see if that Bluray listing Amazon.au has up actually happens because there was a listing for a Blu Ray on Sanity and it was removed and JB, ezyDVD and DVDLand all only have listings for a DVD. It’s happens sometimes when a Blu Ray is announced but then the box office results suddenly dictate a change of plans. We will see.

JB website has a banner ad that specifically says DVD only.

Yep. It seems there was an initial plan to do a Blu ray release and thus the Amazon listing but it seems like Universal has now decided on DVD only instead. Disappointing but seems to be a more and more common occurrence in our market.

It only showed up on Amazon a couple of days ago when sorting by date and I check that every day. I am not sure when the DVD showed up as I don't follow them closely. There were a couple of times this year from the same distributor when only a BD was listed then a month later a 4K listing showed up (The Lost City, The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent). Maybe the other shops are slow, but as long as the price remains visible on Amazon then I would assume it is still happening. If the price later goes away and it says 'not available' then it would be cancelled.

@kicks when is Mr In-between season 3 due on DVD? I was gonna get s1 and 2 from JB but I think a s1-3 complete series might be more efficient use of space on my shelf

I don't think Shudder will be putting out a Sissy BD in the US so I think Madman's DVD is the best we'll ever get. I hope it has a decent extras package too, being an Aussie movie. Load us up plz.

Kicks is shutting down, you're probably not going to get an answer from them.

Considering s1 and s2 were released on Amazon in the US via FX's DVD-R program, and s3 was not, I'm guessing they just released the first two seasons on DVD here because they were already good to go.

Maybe if they see a massive amount of sales for the first two seasons they'll put in the effort for s3? Otherwise I doubt they'll bother.

why would FX only release 2 out of 3 seasons? who does that? regardless of sales. idk what this DVD-R program is, I'll have to look it up

Over the course of four or five years FX went from giving their half hour series releases on blu-ray and DVD (season one of Louie) to just regular DVD (season two of Louie) to DVDs released only through Amazon's DVD-R program (seasons three and I think four of Louie) to not bothering at all (the final season of Louie).

Some of their other shows managed to get full releases on DVD-R - all five seasons of You're the Worst came out via Amazon - but at some point they gave up on offering any options for physical purchase whether the series was finished or not. The first two seasons of Atlanta are (I think) still available on DVD-R through Amazon US, but the final two seasons are not.

Likewise, while the first two seasons of Mr Inbetween got the DVD-R treatment, s3 seems to have aired in the US after the cut-off point and was never released in any physical form (to date).

SBS Dvd did that with the brilliant Swedish sci-fi series Real Humans. They released Season 1, which I bought, but have never released S2 on disc, even after screening it on TV. Totally ticked me off.

No one knows yet when the new Avatar movie is going to be coming to physical media. Its making so much money at the box office right now Disney may keep it in cinemas for many months to come. Someone put up an entry for a Australian release date of April 26th because it must have turned up briefly on some online retailer before being taken down again. Will a date in April stick - who knows. Recently Amazon.au put up Disney's Black Panther:Wakanda Forever 4K preorders for a January 4th release date then removed the entry within a few days. January 4th is tomorrow and its not coming out. So the dates retailers get early can change all the time. All you can do is wait till its officially announced and all retailers actually put up their preorders.

Look at Prey. Not even a hint of a release anywhere of the latest Predator movie... Fox selling to di$ney was an utter tragedy for movie fans

Who's to say that Prey would have existed at all if they hadn't?

The Aus release schedule is all dried up, nothings being announced so Aussie's spend their money elsewhere. i've been spending soo much on the 10 for 10 Vinegar Syndrome sales, it's good to see that Umbrella is now a partner of Vinegar Syndrome, hopefully that means more titles like cloak and dagger, Miami connection make their way here and maybe in 4k

The Australian release schedule has all dried up because Australia is a small market, and Australians don’t spend enough money on Blu-Ray and 4K to make releasing many of them here profitable. So I’m sure they don’t mind that you’re spending your money else where, because they’re saving money by not releasing them here, and having stock sit on store shelves and in warehouses barely moving taking a long time to sell, where eventually they have no choice but to sell them for very little or no profit, sometimes even below cost.

Or more piracy. The people at roadshow are making terrible decisions like picking elf 4k over green mile. Man i wish retailers would just import from europe/states, JB NZ does it with criterion why not here

Sidenote: Who's buying all these terrible Bruce Willis films ? For some reason they get blu-ray releases.
