I'm in whether they include the 4K transfer or not. If they don't then I'll just keep the 4K disc.

Nice. Did they specifically mention it as digibook? The packaging with the box in the back reminds me of the Ultimate Gangster's collectionns that had a separate book included, and the movie in a regular case.

Those are for Germany, right? Are they coming out in the US as well?

I don't believe it was confirmed, but judging from the picture, I would think that the blue banner portion is removable paper with the thick DigiBook underneath.

The film is going to be released in the BD + DVD combo pack (what you see there) and a standalone of the Extended Cut.

I just noticed the press sheet lists it as a "Blu-ray Book" which is what warner calls their digibooks, so that's a promising sign

What press sheet? Do you have a link?

What I have found is on this site

Quote:
The Extended Director's Cut is being released via two editions: a 2-disc Extended Director's Cut Collector's Edition, which contains the Extended Director's Cut, the 1984 theatrical edition, Digital HD with UltraViolet, plus the 32-page book with rare photos and chronicles of the movie's production; and a single-disc standard edition.
And that is disconcerting. No mention it is a digibook, and in the picture I cannot see signs of the plastic disc holders that are traditionally in WB digibooks.

It's in an email I received. It's a PDF, but I converted it to JPG, so there will be compression. You can see in the bottom left corner they list it as 2-disc Blu-ray Book. I personally still have some doubts, as it really looks like those Ultimate Gangster sets that came with separate books, and as you said, there doesn't seem to be any visible plastic hubs in the book.

I'm happy either way. The way I see it's a win/win situation.

Well that helps , it looks more and more likely.

In addition I was able to blow up the pic more. And it looks like the left side of the opened book is slightly raised, and a slight shadow. Maybe by the plastic hub, maybe one of those hubs that contain 2 discs and not one on each side.

My digibook addiction is kicking into full gear now with the thought of more US digibooks this year LOL

I agree but a Digibook is a bigger win

The "Attack on Titan: Limited Edition Part 2" just came up for preorder

https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Attac...lu-ray/105768/

"Attack on Titan: Limited Edition Part 1" was a Digibook, so maybe we can get lucky and this one is too - as we see more details come out.

I'm new to digibooks, I actually don't have any yet, but I want to start a collection, starting with Blade Runner

I want to ask about The Big Lebowski, it's $10.27 right now on amazon but since it's a limited edition, how can I make sure that it still comes as a digibook?

that goes for other movies as well, how can I make sure that amazon will deliver them to me as digibooks? and are digibooks like slipcovers? when they go oop, amazon just ship the movie without them?

If there is a regular edition, like in the case of The Big Lebowski, it will have a different UPC, and listing on Amazon. One doesn't just replace the other. THat's the case with nearly every Digibook out there. If Amazon advertises it as a Digibook, it's very likely one.

If it is listed as a digibook, then thats what you should get. If they ran out it would say item unavailable, they would never just replace it with the regular BD packaging. They are nothing like slip covers, the disc is in the book itself, that is its case, so they can't "ship the movie without them."
