Long time lurker, first time poster etc. Anyone pick up the 4K War of the Worlds today and had a look at the booklet? The first eight pages are printed upside down.

Edit - I guess I need to post more to attach pics

Only about 25% of the line appeals to me and doesn't have a better release elsewhere.

The ones I want I'm really excited to have, but there isn't enough to tempt me to me complete for this line. (And given that I'm not in Australia, my budget is thankful for that.)

Their prices are higher than JB's standard prices, aren't they? Never mind sale prices. And I still can't use TCN cards.

Correct. JB's everyday pricing is generally $5 cheaper for a single disc release. The boxsets vary but are generally cheaper also.

I genuinely am not surprised. They repackage the U.S. disc, bugger up the booklet and charge well over the top considering the price of the U.S. because of "fancy packaging", and supply this. QC is seriously lacking.

Right, so if WA stores had stock, I could've paid $90 cash for After Dark Vol 2, but instead I have to pay at least $170. Pass.

To my surprise, I had a text from my local JB yesterday saying that my pre-orders for the Dec 28 Imprint releases were ready to pick up, so I popped in and grabbed them with the Wicked Wednesday discount last night.

Our six March titles are being announced this Friday 16 December! Best guesses in the comments…

Altruistic ecclesiastics, star-studded annals, criminal debauchery, hellish hallucinations, narcotic sisterhood, and a Malaysian remake.

Tune in right here at 4.30PM AEST on Friday.

Well you wouldn't have gotten it for $90, the thing retails for $199, but I picked up the After Dark Vol 2 set for $159 on JB's 20 percent off sale on Wednesday along with the rest of that Imprint wave and some new 4k releases Pulp Fiction, King Kong, Casablanca, Mockingbird etc. Toll tracking tells me they will arrive tomorrow, I always select the Toll delivery option, I get them super quick, the Aus Post option takes so much longer.

I have TCN gift cards I could use in store, but can't use online, which would've got it down to $90 out of pocket.

Little Buddha will be interesting considering it's being presented in the 2.00:1 "Universum" aspect ratio of the cinematographer. There's a new interview with him as well.

I'll always buy Bertolucci, but the rest don't grab me.

I see no talk anywhere yet about the DIRECTED BY ROLAND JOFFE box set (unless I'm missing seeing a thread here), which I am now blessed to have in my hands in the US. Ordered through Diabolik. Have been through THE MISSION and about to look at the rest. Nice transfer on THE MISSION, nothing revelatory, but I think it's an updated transfer from the earlier US Blu-ray. I bought this (as with many other recent IMPRINTS) for the glorious set of existing and new Bonus features, too. Joffe's existing commentaries on THE KILLING FIELDS and THE MISSION are just as essential as the films, to me. The KILLING FIELDS disc also includes the feature-length documentary on Dr. Haing S. Ngor that was not on the US Warner Bros. disc, I think. Every disc, including FAT MAN AND LITTLE BOY, has a few new featurettes. The edition of CITY OF JOY here is sourced from the 2019 French remaster! And includes a 40-minute Joffe interview from 2019 -- did not know he speaks fluid French! But the REAL Bonus is a brand-new 90-minute Joffe-focused documentary that is (so far) exclusive to this set, featuring an extended new talk with Joffe about these four films in particular -- I haven't gotten into it yet, but I'm sure it's equally essential. A beautiful box set. Thank you, IMPRINT/VIAVISION, if you're reading this!

I'll get Georgia & House of the Spirits, if only for Glenn Closes' magnificent performance (Streep and Irons are terrible in the film).

Jacobs Ladder is good but I don't want to view it again.

Return to Paradise is awful as is I Sleep When I'm Dead, which is a great title but that is all it has going for it.

I have the soundtrack to Little Buddha and that will suffice (hint hint I don't like the film).

Awesome! I was just thinking about I’ll Sleep when I’m Dead after watching Get Carter and ordering Croupier. More Mike Hodges isn’t a bad thing!

No. It's supposed to be coming sometime in 2023. It's weird, they've already released spine numbers past what numbers the Walter Hill box set contains. Must be a holdup of some type.
