Penguin Highway is a great film. I was lucky enough to watch it at a local cinema thanks to an independent Japanese festival that appears every February in my city (there was supposed to be a UK nationwide release but the distributor didn't realise what the story was about at the time and essentially became a bit unmarketable, I mean the main character is a man of culture in a sense). The film's ending song Good Night (from Utada Hikaru of Evangelion & Kingdom Hearts fame) is a great listen too.

Even if the US don't get a limited edition for the film, there's at least Anime Limited's release to wait for (if you have Region B access).

Looks like just these for me. Light month for August:

8/6 Attack on Titan Season Three Part One BD/DVD Combo
8/13 HANEBADO! The Complete Series - BD
8/13 HINAMATSURI The Complete Series - BD

It's kinda nice owning all the titles I want that way I don't have to waste time looking at all the Essentials crap. Also, not a fan of the Attack on Titan LE. They seem really boring and they are an awkward size. At least they are being consistent with the series.

Yeah. Consistency is nice. I just like the consistency of the slipcovers more. Same goes for My Hero Academia. The Overlord LE is nice. Never did get the first one though so I just have the cheap standard but I don't mind cause I have some serious issues with that series.

Nice is that AoT is consistent but then Free doesn't have a standard edition. Especially with the UK unlikely to license it again I bet its because they put the recap films exclusively in the LE of the films so obviously that sold more.

Wonder when the recent Code Geass movie will hit Blu-ray? That's all I've got my eye on from Funimation coming up.

Probably sometime next year, the Japanese release hasn't even been solicited yet.

Yes! I've been anxiously waiting for RErideD, that was a big favorite of mine, definitely in for that. Also in for Attack on Titan S3 LE, since I got the first two season LE sets.

ACCA 13 is another really big favorite, but I already have the Funi Standard release and I also imported the three nice JP Box sets, so I don't need the Essentials set. Same for Record of Lodoss War Essentials, I've got the original box set for that.

Other than those 4 titles, nothing else of interest to me.

Yeah. Makes me put money towards Aniplex.

Oh and where the hell is Laid Back Camp and A Place Further Than The Universe? The lack of release on those is driving me nuts.

I think those will be in limbo forever now. I guess since they were a CR/Funi co production (not 100% sure) they may never see the light of day. I'd be happy if Sentai just worked with CR to release them. Watch CR (Warner) let Viz handle them haha.

Sony breaking up the FUNiroll partnership is probably why we see mainly re-release slates because plenty of what FUNi was releasing as of late was stuff CR had home video rights to, with FUNi simply being the distributor (If you see the CR logo on a FUNi release, CR has home video rights, same goes for the CR logo on Discotek releases). Look at the table for just FUNimation here, not CR/FUNi. There's honestly not that much FUNi can release anytime soon, and some are out of their hands like D.Gray-man Hallow where the JP release was canceled as the mangaka apparently despised that adaptation.

I'm so confused by that Attack on Titan LE. Does it hold the previous LE set? Or the standard set?

What do you mean? It will hold both parts for season three. Two had its own limited edition.
