Definitely a good movie...But not something I'm needing to watch again.

Great performances. A unique kind of story setting.

Never even heard of it until last week. Glad we watched it though

This might be what you call Derek Cianfrance's first dud in a career of solid movies, like with Cameron Crowe and Aloha. What made Blue Valentine and Place Beyond the Pines special was the engaging and naturally flowing drama. This one felt almost like a soap opera sometimes, either because he was held hostage by the novel or because he slacked off this time.

As a fan of the actors and director this was a disappointment and I can see why it bombed. Not their worst work but certainly not their best.

Still meaning to see this mainly for Fassy. Just been hoping that it'd show up on Amazon Prime or Netflix, but I guess it technically falls under Disney's banner so maybe their service will have it.
