Testify.
Too bad about Fry's. My local Fry's used to have awesome sales with tons of Arrow movies.

Yes! I used to get a quad espresso on Sunday morning and spend 2 hours walking around Fry's. Sometimes I would go to the Burbank store and the Woodland Hills store on the same day. Fry's was unique.

I'd be in the store first day at opening of their Anniversary sale in Burbank before work and scoop up a lot of box sets and movies.

Then on Saturday I'd drive out to Woodland Hills to see what they had.

Glorious days!

I was in the Burbank Fry's a few weeks before it closed, sad. I bought The Rolling Stones CD/DVD Some Girls Live In Texas and the Lambert Stamp Documentary.

Circuit City, The Good Guys, Tower Records good times.

Best Buy is last man standing and we can all see what is happening regarding movies [CD RIP a few years ago at the store].

I'm sure we've all b!tched about something that p!ssed us off at all of these stores but I think once the store is gone we only remember how much fun it was to go in there looking for a new release or a deal.

If you're having Fry's Electronics nostalgia, just pop in the movie Nope and watch the segment when they're inside Fry's. I don't think any movies featured shopping inside Circuit City so we'll have to try to remember all those red walls and IIRC blue floors.

I used to live out there. I was sad when Tower Records closed. But I did enjoy the temporary store they had on Hollywood Blvd, where they were blowing out tons of merchandise for dirt cheap! I bought a LOT!

I don't think I knew about the Fry's anniversary sale though. I used to go to the Burbank store every few months, but it wasn't very close to me.

Fry’s had an ad usually on the back page of the sports section in the LA Times

The week before the Anniversary sale they usually made some mention of it
