Ghostbusters Reviews including mastered from 4K

There's more detail in the original Ghostbusters Blu from the looks of it, although they fixed the slightly boosted contrast.

Received my copy today and have taken some screen grabs which I tried to sync up with the images from this page, looks like there is a smidge more picture at the top than previous releases...

Great job! Yeah, definitely some level of improvement there. In fact, I'd almost go so far as to say that from what I'm seeing in those caps, it almost looks like reference-grade quality. Black levels look better, colors are tighter, and the contrast issue appears corrected, but at the same time, I'm still finding the overall differences to be minor enough to not bother upgrading, but then again, I'm also a person watching on a 50" setup, and not some 100" projector screen, so for those people, perhaps this upgrade will be worth it. Cool to see those though...thanks again

Any word on extras? Will they be ported over? I know someone who wants my original blu release for 10 bucks, making this release well worth it...

I only have a 46" but this film is one of my top 5 favourite films of all time so having the very best release is a no brainer for me, just a shame Back to the Future doesn't have a similar quality release

Oh and the disc is about 32Gb and there is a basic main menu.

That's exactly what I have done, the resell value of the original release is almost nothing so I just took it out of the case and put it in with the remastered disc.

Really? It only takes up 32 GB, and they don't bother putting the damn extras in? Ridiculous.

I looked at the pics, and it looks like a marginal upgrade at best. Not worth losing out on all those extras.

Thanks for posting, it looks like this is definitely worth an upgrade as it's one of my favorite films as well. This will be the first film I have two copies of on blu-ray though which I'm not thrilled about. Oh well. Did it come with a uv digital copy? All the listings on Amazon, best buy, etc. mention it but it's not listed on the cover at all.

Yes it does include an Ultraviolet copy.

I see them just fine. The difference is not significant to me. I find it funny how some people overblow the differences.

And the much improved contrast. I say much improved because the contrast in the blu-ray and 2005 dvd was an abomination. I don't know how anyone can say that is the correct look for the film when you can see how blown out it is in so many scenes (not to mention, introducing noise into areas where there should not be). How anyone could prefer that look or at least say it is the way it should look, needs to have their eyes checked.

Edit: I also noticed the green colour shift in some scenes appears to have been corrected as well. Look at the screenshot of the Ghostbusters title and you'll see the green on the buildings and statue has gone, thankfully.
