I bought Dune on Blu-ray during the Wal-Mart Black Friday sales. I opened it today to watch it and it had a tiny scratch on the Blu and more marks on the DVD. Since Blus are very scratch resistant, I was hoping it would not affect playback, but it causes the movie to jump ahead in a scene and you can not rewind back over it. I sent a message to WB's home video e-mail to see what they say about it.

Like poke smot says, I'd just exchange it at WM. I haven't gotten any responses from WB for multiple issues in years. At least don't wait too long for a response from them.

Seems the only place to buy that in stores is Best Buy. Glad I ordered it from target last month when they had a 20% off sale.

First store I checked out did not have a copy, or if they did no one knew where it was. Second store had 2 copies with slips, so I was able to exchange it. The DVD for this copy has some smudges, too. The Blu does not look to have any scratches like the prior one though.

If you look up Dune on their website, it will only show as being sold by Gruv. I think this made it impossible to search and be able to see for certain which locations had copies.

I was at a Walmart today that I haven't been to in a while. This one did have the $7.50 bin with the steelbooks in it. Most were movies that I already had (Hunter Killer, Divergent, Hacksaw Ridge), but I did find a couple that I grabbed:

Uncle Drew
Jigsaw -- I had this movie in the Saw set, but the art on the steelbook was so cool, I grabbed it anyways.

Also, unfortunate these are all DVDs, but the slipcovers for the Valentine's Day display were pretty cool. Odd mixture of horror/thrillers with the more traditional romance movies:

These past holidays I came across these at a Rite Aid, which are the same as the eggs only a bit smaller and rounder. Good to split the year gap:

I have seen them for a few years. They also have Halloween ones of those in orange and other fall/Halloween colors.

Most of the Walmarts near me have eliminated their $5 bins and $7.50 bins. Are others seeing the same situation at their local Walmart stores?

I'm glad it worked out. I assume you were within your return time period on the receipt? I think it's still 90 days on movies at Walmart so anything bought in November should be safe. I don't think any retail or online store in existence will exchange a defective movie with receipt after their typically 15-90 day return period is over. Then you're stuck with the studio or rebuying.

For people who don't open their movies until they actually watch them, it's a worry the studio may not exchange it if it doesn't play due to some small scratches which seem to be more prevalent these days, especially when discs come loose during shipping.

I noticed my Lightyear 4K from Target has a light radial scratch, and I suppose I'll be forced to watch it again before its return period soon ends, though I think Disney is known to be willing to do exchanges. Unfortunately I don't have any software which can scan a scratched disc for errors to avoid having to watch the entire movie. I saw it in the theater and I'm not in the mood yet.

Finally found Train To Busan 4k with mint slipcover at different town’s Walmart.

I ordered it twice from Amazon but sent it back twice because:

1) first time no slipcover

2) second time damaged slipcover

Needed to pad an online Walmart order for free shipping, so I rolled the dice on adding in a steelbook to the order, and it showed up in that cardboard ravioli packaging, but the steelbook inside survive the postal gauntlet and sustained no dents, dings, bends, crushed corners. Whew!
