It was a huge pain to keep the shelves looking nice back then. You'd have to go and farm it every day to keep it in order and make it shopable. Plus anytime there was price drop you had to go find every copy and resticker it.

I dunno but it's probably Shout that decides what they think will sell enough to be in stores and they tell Universal (or SDS now I guess) to send the stock.

Do you know how many steel books of A Quiet Place Part II will be in store?

Going to try and go when BB opens. Thank you!

The closest one to me has been doing that for over a year. They have limited stock facing out on display, then a rack above that houses additional stock, spine out alphabetically. Although the volume on that rack has dwindled away recently. It was great for collectors like us to scan across quickly but I could see casual shoppers missing available titles.

Best Buy was awesome last year and due to the pandemic I had time to go to various stores to get the deals especially for the titles not available for shipping or only at a store 18 miles from you

Also it was so unbelievably easy to drive around Los Angeles, it was amazing how empty the roads were. I wanted The Verdict since it was a Fox title and all the rumors of Disney and Fox and that many Fox catalog titles could possibly go out of print. I did a store pickup at a Barnes and Noble in Calabasas and I flew down the 405 to the 101 [one of the worst highway intersections in the US] then did my pick up and just for kicks and I was stir crazy I went north on the 101 to the 126 in Oxnard/Ventura and went back home to Santa Clarita. Traffic moved like it was 1:30am at night.

That was in the afternoon after 3pm on a weekday in Los Angeles. It was amazing.
I'm sorry, but I could only think of those SNL sketches 'the californians' while reading this.

I don't know if anyone has posted this, but Best Buy has marked down the Flash Gordon Arrow 4K from $24.99 (last week, 50% off) to $19.99 (this week, 60% off) to match Amazon's price.

Does anyone know when the last day was that the Peter Jackson King Kong 4K steelbook was on sale for $14.99 ?

It seems it is back to $22.99, but I haven't checked for weeks.

Anyone who works at Best Buy have any idea?

Thanks!

I can't give you anything definitive, but I can hopefully narrow the date range a bit. According to my receipt, I purchased one at $14.99 on Friday, July 16.

Last time I checked, Amazon had the 2 disc bonus, and Best Buy did not. I would not call that a match.

2 disc is limited edition and it’s been sold out for a while. That has not gone down below $40(what I paid for - I think deepdiscount had it little less with coupon). Regular version (1 disc) have been and is on sale for $19.99.
Amazon and Best Buy is for the same 1 disc regular edition

Are you referring to the limited edition? That's actually selling on Amazon for quite a bit more.

For those with delayed pre-order issues, has BB come upon a solution that actually works?

Nobody 4K never shipped. No one could cancel it. Auto canceled a month or so later

Mortal Kombat 4K didn't ship. Couldn't cancel on the day of release because it was "preparing to ship". Shipped 10 days later.

A Quiet Place 2 4K didn't ship. Today's CSR said the issues is with my credit card authorization (Capital One) after saying that there was no issue and I complained further about this being an ongoing issue.

This of course doesn't add up. Nobody was a debit card and I switched off my debit card because BB was placing multiple holds each week on movies that weren't even being released for months.
MK is same CC as QP2 and eventually shipped with no action on my part. And Brotherhood of the Wolf was on the same card and shipped without issue and was placed in the same order as they both released on the same day.

No issues on my card with authorization emails/texts or limits.

Edit: Did another chat. Now it's because it was backordered. Placed the order on June 5th and somehow it's now because it's backordered and I should get it by 8/9/2021. I give up.

I just tried to place an online order with a place match twice but the site is glitching up and won't let me complete it.

Thanks! I got one on the 13th.

And just as I was thinking of getting a copy as a gift for a family member, the price has gone up again. Go figure! haha

I am curious if the price was around last week or if it was only during the week when the two of us purchased it.
