There’s a movie reset next week. So keep an eye out for it.

Went to my local Best Buy for a couple times over the past few months. Barely any movies anymore, I counted about eight. All older Warner Brothers steel books and nothing else. The rest of the new releases are filled with video games. Plus my local Best Buy is still in the remodeling process for the appliances. Sad times.

Video games are horrible at my store. There are plenty of titles, but they're in the back corner locked in glass cabinets and you have to look for an employee to get the game for you. They also overestimated the number of Madden and Avengers they'd sell.

I stopped shopping there for games.
Hell, I have never seen more then 6 Switch games on the actual shelves, where they have over 20 ft of blank space.

I think I stopped in a couple times if that Woodland Hills one was across the street from Costco, or nearby anyway. (Fuzzy memory from the '90s.) Used to mostly get my cds from Best Buy back then, and Tower and once in a while at Virgin. Occasional road trip to the Bay area.

Has anyone gotten reward points for customer reviews since the 2023 reset? Seems like people weren't getting points at the end of the year. Thanks.

I did not. I had to request them from a Best Buy mod on their forum. They just told me to keep waiting. When I still hadn't received the points after 20 days, they manually added the points to my account.

Question was "Has anyone gotten reward points for customer reviews since the 2023 reset?"

Answer was "I did not. I had to request them from a Best Buy mod on their forum. They just told me to keep waiting. When I still hadn't received the points after 20 days, they manually added the points to my account."

It is now the 7th day of 2023

I called them about this yesterday, my missing points. I pointed out that in this thread others were making the same complaint. He said the tech department had experienced a problem, and were trying to solve it. I was told that they needed another 15 to 20 days before they could resolve it, if they did not after 20 days, I could call back (possibly to have the points added manually).

They mean 20 days after the review is posted, max 20 days (in the past it took 2 or 3 days). For example I posted 2 reviews on the 2nd of Dec, I should have received the points no later than 22nd of Dec.

I'd buy it if my store didn't damage those slipcovers on release week. The same 3 copies are still there collecting dust.

My Black Adam steelbook finally arrived today after UPS passed it off to the post office. And let's just say I could hear the delivery driver literally drop off my package.

Steelbook looks fine though. It was in a bubble mailer.

Well, this is nice (from an email I just received):
Quote:
Shipping change:
Starting now, as a My Best Buy member you'll get free shipping on all BestBuy.com orders, with no minimum purchase required.* You'll also continue to have access to exclusive member offers, order tracking and your saved purchase history.

Reward points change:
The second change is that on February 14, 2023, earning points on eligible Best Buy purchases will become an exclusive benefit of the My Best Buy® Credit Card. To continue earning rewards on your Best Buy purchases, you can apply for the My Best Buy® Credit Card and earn 10% back* in rewards on your first day of purchases. Plus, for a limited time you can earn a $100 reward certificate* when you apply, are approved for, and spend $100 on your new My Best Buy® Credit Card at Best Buy. Activation required. Offer ends February 13, 2023.

If you decide to not apply for the Credit Card, we'll issue a certificate for points remaining in your account within 60 days following the program change on February 14.
Guess that's one less piece of plastic in my wallet.

Indeed, though it won't affect me since I never spent enough at BB to make getting their card worthwhile. I think the free shipping benefit is the more significant change. It finally makes getting in on the occasional one-off movie sale possible for me. I find the "must be activated" bit rather odd though. Or does that only apply if I want the card?

The email has an "Activate Now" button, so I assume it means you only qualify for the $100 certificate if you apply for a new credit card by clicking on that link (and not through other means).
