Went in my local store today to pick up Babylon and the guy working had two full carts of mostly 4Ks that he was filling up all the shelves with. Stuff I haven't seen stocked in awhile and about 3-6 copies of each title.

Best Buy doesn't rewrap movies. They get credit for anything they send back so there is no reason to.

Some people do buy movies just to get the digital code and rewrap them to get a full refund though. We had a guy that was doing this constantly awhile back until we figured out who it was and called them out on it.

They were never really the greatest indicator of what will be carried in stores or not except when the 8 digit ones were online only. Plenty of 7 digit skus have never set foot in stores.

Did anyone see the "Babylon" steelbook in-store? I know Tyrok said it was not going to be available but a store near me shows available for pick up. Wonder if it is a damage return.

Almost certainly a return from an online order. Purchase at your own risk.

When I worked at Best Buy (~15 years ago) we actually had a shrink wrap machine at Guest Services and would rewrap returns all day as long as everything checked out and was working..

Looking back on it, it was probably an individual store/GM decision and they're probably no longer with the company lol.

Yesterday while doing in-store pickup for Babylon I passed the front display. I was surprised to see about 6 Thor: Love & Thunder SteelBooks, 2 No Time To Die SteelBooks, 4-6 Groundhog Day SteelBooks, and not surprising: Strange World 4K SteelBook w/ advertised price of $39.99.

I'm not sure how all that works but surely there is a way around it. Back when GamersClub was still a thing we had people with multiple accounts to get more than 3 discounts per sku. Not hard to see why they got rid of it.

Stores still had them when I started but they are long gone. Most likely due to a vendor not being happy with returns being rewraped as new instead of sent back.

Just noticed that steelbooks are no longer being offered with Resident Evil 4 online, so if you want one, better go to the store in the morning.

Preordered Resident Evil 4 with the free steelbook, they sent the steelbook in a box and the game in a bubble mailer, but they both came from the same place. Ever see that before?

I have seen that happen before, whereas they ship the game in one package and then the steelbook arrives on it's own either at the same time or a few days later. Regarding the SteelBook incentive for RE4 it sounds like pre-orders exceeded the supply, this too I have seen happen before as well. :-)
