I haven't heard the PS3 startup(haven't got a PS3 yet) don't want to hear until I've got it hook up to my 50ins Plasma and my 5.1 amp. I've got a PSP, I bet it's a revison of that.

I replayed ICO yesterday and apart from the horrid low native resolution it still stands up rather well, has its own stylistic and even technical beauty matched by no other game, even Shadow of the Colossus. During the thunderstorm at the end of the game I noticed something I hadn't before, animated wet rock textures. Silent Hill 3 did some pretty funky animated texture things the year after but I couldn't remember any game doing the wet animated rock effect so early. I was surprised by how good the pool of interactive 3D-ripple reflective water under the windmill still looks, the sparingly-used blinding orange sunlight and hard-to-describe room consuming darkness eye candy used in the final battle.
With Shadow of the Colossus and ICO fresh in my mind, I'm expecting some cool graphical innovations in the new PS3 game. ![]() |

![]() Tiny picture but it looks like the chain pic from side-on. Looks a bit like a giant plug from that angle but the hole in the middle destroys any possibility of liquid plugging. Last edited by Shin-Ra; 05-13-2008 at 10:23 PM. |

Well, here's the second print. ![]() Not much good to us but it's always good to know there's more team ICO lovin' around the globe. |

Sony’s Yoshida: Team Ico Has Something “Really, Really Good on the Way” The new head of Sony Computer Entertainment Shuhei Yoshida said, in an interview with the Official PlayStation Magazine, that Team Ico has something “really, really good on the way.” The full quote: “They are working on a title. I started the ICO project. Ueda-san joined my team in Japan as a cinematic animator, but he created a short movie and presented it to me and said, “I want to make this game.” I said, “Yes, let’s do it, but you have never made a game. We have to have experienced people do it,” so it took a while, recruiting one person at a time. And because Fumito Ueda doesn’t compromise, we had to move the development from PSone to PlayStation 2. Then I couldn’t complete the game because I moved to the United States. It took four years and the second game took four years too. So I started calling them the ‘Olympic Team.’ They haven’t released a PS3 title yet - of course not - they’ll take four years! But they have something really, really good on the way.” Of course Yoshida would say something like that–he kind of has to. But given the track record of Team Ico–I think we can take his word on that. |
