Default HD-DVD 1080p $500?

When did Toshiba release the HDA-20? It claims $500 for a 1080p, but its not even listed on their website. I saw it on Circuitcity.com. I am just shocked because I had never heard of this model before.

New model that I don't even think is out yet. 1080p, but no analog outs (if you can't use HDMI).

Toshiba just announced price reductions:

Quote:
"Effective April 1st, Toshiba is implementing strategic retail price reductions on its full line of HD DVD players for the U.S. market. The entry level HD-A2 will have a suggested retail price of $399.99; and the new HD-A20, with 1080p output, will be introduced at $499 (available in stores in April). The top of the line HD-XA2 was already repositioned to $799.99 on March 1st."

It seems that blu-ray.com is turning into a HD DVD forum. Would someone please tell me of a website where people could care less about HD DVD. I want to go there.

I feel sorry for the people who just replaced their A1 with the A2. Hummm... toshiba is just playing HD DVD fans/ supporters for suckers. I love the new XBox 360 artical in gameinformer when M$ clearly states that the HD DVD drive is not included in the new Xbox360 with HDMI because "HD DVD is not a proven format, and is being out sold by Blu Ray." I fell over laughing when I saw that and ran back to the HD DUD fanboy in Home Audio. I still think he is pulling his foot out of his mouth.

I think you'll find the info you're looking for on the AVS forums....

I've been there maybe 3 times ...but from what I hear, that's the place you want to go for HD-DVD info..

What's it up to now? Giving away 7 M$-DVDs for buying one of these Toshitba clunkers? When do they go for the big 1-0, a nice round number?

Especially on the weekends, which I don't think is ever a coincidence or accident...you'd almost be hard pressed to tell.

It's amazing how fast my ignore list has grown around here the last month or two. As things get more sad and desperate for HD-DUD, the more I expect to see that angst and desperation manifest itself in varying forms, including trying to threadcrap and ruin this place.
