Your right

I just checked Amazon.ca

Can’t find it anywhere. Look like they wanna get rid of older models first.

Actually scrap that.

I can get a new PS4 $50 cheaper.

Also holy hell. The Pro Controller is $90. Nope

Also known as the Switch tax where everything is more expensive (except online which is priced in line with what it offers I suppose).

I'm not thrilled with the perceived value of the Switch and everything I'll likely need to buy for it. I wanted it buy it at Best Buy because they have a 30 day return policy. It's my out if my daughter rejects it or I can't get into for myself.

On the other hand, if it becomes a 'family entertainment system' and useful on the go, it will pay for itself.

Not sure what to expect personally since I haven't played a Nintento game in 15+ years. Looking forward to the sit down and play aspect of many of their titles. I won't feel compelled to grind for achievements, or do weekly bounties/quests/assignments just to keep up. Many times my Xbox profile and some of the games I played felt like a part time job. Nintendo seems to be the opposite from what I can see.

For me the Switch is a little retro/indie box. I supported (and loved) the Wii U so all of the 1st party re-releases I've skipped. I don't play it often but when I do I play it until I've beaten the game at hand. I've enjoyed what I've used it for and don't regret the purchase at all.

I’m disappointed they ditched the virtual console for the Switch. I would have been satisfied with the retro games offered for Switch Online had they not drip fed the releases and limiting it only to NES games.

Agreed and this is exactly why I feel it's okay to complain about the Online offerings as there's no other way to get them. I'm not as adamant about Gamecube as most others but NES, SNES and N64 should have been there from the start along with matching Joycons.

I mean I know why 3rd parties aren't interested in the VC (they can release their own compilations and the mini consoles have really taken off) but it's still crappy. Also my kingdom for a mini console that finally has an official way to add more titles. They all know these things will be hacked, that's inevitable. So why not sell licensed USB drives with new games and make some money back if you don't want to add online and a store front end.

Evercade?

I think the mini consoles are cute and have some fun games, but I sold both Nintendo Classic Minis and will probably end up doing the same w/ the Genesis and TG-16 Minis as well.

I still think it would be great if I could buy that as a bundle on the eShop. Obviously a VC w/ a la carte options would be great for flexibility, but I would buy that compilation to save space. One more plastic case on a shelf is preferable to another console, and I had to buy an HDMI switch since my tv only has 4 HDMIs. Not to mention different game sets in different regions, I would definitely rather pay to download/unlock the games vs. buying an additional micro console to play the one or two games they Arbitrarily decided my region isn’t worthy enough to play.

I haven't had a Switch for very long but ive been loving it so far. So many great games to catch up on & more yet to release yet. It was well worth it to me. Since ive gotten it I haven't even turned on my PS4. The last Nintendo console I remember enjoying this much was the GameCube.

I have a Wii U & bought just about every VC title. I haven’t tried it in a long while. If I still have the games on my USB External, can I still play them?

New FCC filings point to SNES style controller for Nintendo Switch

Model HAC-042 so its for the Switch, so it looks like we will be getting SNES online/Virtual Console some time soon along with a bluetooth controller!

I always figured this would come at the 1 year anniversary for the online to entice retention.

Its too bad there wasn't at least a way to migrate Wii Shop/eShop purchases, even if only for games w/o retail editions.

Grandia HD collection priced at $39.99.

I'll wait to see if someone releases a physical copy. I owned Grandia for PS1 and Grandia II for DC and foolishly sold them years ago when I moved. Would like to own these again.

Gamestop is giving $225 for certain consoles. I traded in my old Switch for the updated version. After trading in a game, I paid around $65.

Went back and forth but with the extended battery, new joy cons, and getting rid of one we had put a lot of wear and tear on, I'm happy with the decision.

I was really hoping to see Grandia Digital Museum included w/ the first game but it appears to be stuck on Sega Saturn as a Japanese exclusive.

You can import the Japanese cart for the Phoenix Wright Collection, it has English language also. I own it. This is the great thing about the Switch being region free.

Its also available on Amazon:

Nintendo is allowing Switch owners who purchased a console after July 17 to trade it in for the newer model.

The company recently released a revised version of Switch, which has an upgraded processor. The processor extends the battery life of the console from around 6.5 hours to 9 hours.

Reddit user DarthMewtwo contacted Nintendo Customer Service in the US to see if trading their older console for the upgrade was an option. Nintendo stated they could, providing the console was purchased after July 17.

Digital Trends contacted Nintendo Customer Service which confirmed the report. The site helpfully notes many retailers are still selling the older model, so in order to make sure you recently purchased the new model – look at the box.

Older Switch boxes have a white background, whereas the newer one has a red background. If you threw out your box, look at the console’s serial number. If it’s the new model, the serial number should start with “XKW”.

Should your console be the older model, Nintendo will send you an email with return instructions. You will have to pay for shipping and handling.

It’s also noted this offer many only be available in North America at this time, but it doesn’t hurt to contact customer service if you live in another region.
