Is this correct?

So can I order right away or should I wait a while after signing up over the phone?
You can also go to the offers section and select the "No Discount" offer. That way you can order them all full price in one single order.

Immediately is fine. I rarely get through the 1st day of a new enrollment before I have the 2 commitments placed and often not even the first hour

I mentioned in the other thread - I suggest doing your fulfillments quickly and cheaply as possible and skipping the 40% deals. Lots of 24.95 items, a few 19.95/21.95 that some folks are interested in.

My first goal is to get to the VIP as soon as possible (with items I actually want of course), then leverage the 50% and preferably the 60% discounts for bigger groups of items esp since it sounds like you have a decent list of 4K ready to go.

If it's there. Often it takes a few hours or up to 24 hrs for that option to show up -- unless they fixed that delay. It used to be the Free Shipping option didn't show up the first few hours, but I think they fixed that after a few months.

Options now with FS are easier -- order separate singles. Order both by phone or chat and have them manually place them for full price.

Yeah, the "No Discount" option isn't showing up in the offers section. Figures.

Can't tell you which items, but I tend to stay with itmes that aren't cheap elsewhere. Ist thing is figure out which items you really want -- cheap is irrelevant if it's not useful

For the initial enrollment there are about 250 eligible items though only about half of them I'd consider good value choices -- The Classic Disney/Pixar animated items, the newer Live Action remakes, Marvel release, DMC exclusives, newish releases. Basically figure the initial 6-7 items plus 2 average $25 Fulfillment picks will end costing $8 ea. I usually avoid $30/35 items as your fulfillment picks and save them for later.

Avoid most of the items that are regular $10 everywhere live most of the std older Adult Live Action titles. Check Amazon Camel Camel Camel history if nothing else for average or non-Black Friday price. Most non exclusive items more than 4-5 yrs old after release are often available pretty reasonable prices. I love many of these, but using Enrollment slots for Enchanted, Eight Below, Babes in Toyland, Tomorrowland, Glory Road, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Dick Tracy, Miracle, etc seems to be wasteful given most of them are already $5-10 so DMC isn't really saving you any money (actually some of those aren't enrollment eligible anymore).

Check the current Disney Movie Rewards site sale if you have a lot of DMR points already and I'd tend to avoid many of those that are super cheap -- OTOH, the current DMR sale is pretty much unprecedented for cheap prices and esp all of them at once.

You can play the It's going to cheap on Black Friday game until you drive yourself crazy -- while some Disney can be cheap on BF it's not a large number of titles or even close to the majority of the catalog, they aren't all cheap the same year and aren't always easily obtainable. Every year there are a bunch of "I kept waiting for ABC to be $10, but it never happened"

Once you hit the VIP/bought all you required items and have the bigger discounts, then the whole catalog of DLX titles, 4K, Star Wars, 3D, non enrollment Eligible exclusives, etc are fair game for using 50% and preferably 60% discounts. The bigger group orders with 60% is going to be the cheapest average prices.

Using DMC and only buying 1 item at a time or even pairs of items isn't really the best strategy if price is a priority

It should be there within 24 hrs or you can call tonight to get them do it manually if you're not tired of talking to them (chat usually closes at around 8-9pm ET). When I used to call in enrollments I often tried to place my commitment order at the same time -- once they even let me lump the 2 commits into the enrollment pack and get FS on the whole thing. Most of the time they separated the enrollment and placed a separate order with my 2 commitments, but with normal shipping.

With the FS on everything it simplifies the options. Placing 2 separate single item orders is pretty much the same cost as a combined order and you don't have to worry about 2 separate vs one combined shipping/handling cost

They were temporarily sold out of Honey I Shrunk The Kids a few days ago. the best strategy is to have your list ready, in order of importance, and ask them which titles are eligible. Start with 4K as it is more expensive, generally, assuming 4Ks are eligible. If you are already a member, wait until you are a VIP/commitment-filled member and they send you the buy one and get the rest at 60% off, then go hog wild. Keep in mind, some of the 4Ks will be monthly titles in the future with a bit of swag added on, so if you have one you love and want a free litho or something, wait on it, keeping in mind the swag isn't really free. 60% vs $5 off with a free something or other means you will pay more for the swag. If not a member yet, use the code in the first post of the thread to get free shipping. You need free shipping. Basically, I'm recapping what I've read back in the last hundred pages or so and the first pages. Really, read the first pages of the thread, then ask specific questions and keep a Disney list. Lists are key.

I just received an email reminding me that I get free shipping on all of my orders. This is the first time I noticed the fine print: *VIP FREE Shipping for the life of your Disney Movie Club membership. Applies to standard shipping and processing rates only. Not eligible with priority or expedited shipping. Program subject to be discontinued at any time."

Looking at doing my 9th enrollment. Since they redesigned the site, it doesn’t say if the titles come with a digital copy. I know I can call but I’d rather do it online.

All programs of all types contain that language, whether you've found it or not. It's standard "legalese". The whole club may be discontinued at any time, as could the free shipping. That's one of the reasons to group items, rather than buy singles. Saving them money and the hassle of too many single-item shipments makes them more likely to continue the free shipping.

That's also why those I know who had already joined, including the one who talked me into finally joining, after a long discussion including True Lies and The Abyss and James Cameron issues, along with Disney exclusive issues, their fight with Amazon and so on, are all people who joined once and stayed in, rather than re-upping. I will be doing it that way as well, just keeping an active membership, no canceling/rejoining, because I want them to keep the program active.

So I completed my order online for the other two regular-priced movies and that should fulfill my obligations for the commitment.

I'm not interested in receiving automatic shipments every month for new titles and being charged, so is the best thing to cancel now? What happens if I want to join again later, can you? Is there a way to stay enrolled to be able to purchase new future releases (like hopefully Watcher in the Woods at some point) without being charged for new titles every month?

You can, but I strongly suggest never cancelling before you receive your items and check them to make sure they're OK. trying to correct a problem on a closed acct is 10x the work.

After that it's up to you, but I thought you wanted a bunch of 4K titles? There no downside to staying a DMC member, there's no minimum number purchases, there's no requirement to buy anything to be honest so you can stay enrolled indefinitely just to watch with pretty minimal effort and buy an occasional title that pops up. 100% of the time there are Discount Offers -- Buy 1 title at regular Price, Get 50 or 60% off the rest of your order for VIPs though it sometimes takes at least a full cycle after you officially make VIP for the upgraded offers to show up instead of the B1/Get 40 or 50% non VIP offer. . Within a week or so you should see a Bonus Offer for " B1 G60%" that a lot of folks are using to load up on 5-10-20-30 4K all at once for $15-18 each

I not sure I'm entirely sure what you mean -- you don't receive automatic shipments of anything, but you do have to take the 30 seconds to decline the offer each cycle (you get a mailer unless you go paperless) and you usually get multiple emails per month reminding you to accept/decline your FT offer. If you don't decline within the 4 week window then you will be charged and mailed the selected title. There are people that have been members for 10 years and never accepted/received a FT.

That said -- on occasion, some people have received the FT against their desire and even though they always decline Day 1 of a cycle (it happens more frequently than it should). I keep all my Decline Emails for 2-3 months just in case -- easy proof for DMC to provide a pre-paid return label. In my 15 years on/off with DMC (far more on than off), I can only remember twice receiving a FT I didn't ACCEPT -- once I know I declined (easy simple return), the other time I think so but never was 100% sure it wasn't my fault and it was 2 items I was going to order within a month anyway. DMC will accept the return even if you do forget and occasionally will even pay return shipping if you are a good customer and it's an isolated event or sometimes if you just get the right CSR.

If you cancel your enrollment, then you are welcome/even encouraged to sign up again. I'm probably on my 7th or 8th since 2010, the poster above is doing his 9th, there are people here who are easily in the teens. Like some others, I am quite literally out of useful titles to enroll with. If i want to re-enroll I have to rebuy things to gift (or sell a few) or scrounge through even some of the DVD Exclusives for things that will likely never get to BD. You can use the same promo codes and get teh exact same offer pretty much any time after your account is purged from the Disney system (3-7 days normally) if you want to re-use the same email. If you change email addresses like I do, you can often sign up the same day though I usually wait a couple days. there are folks on this forum that literally used to cancel and re-up on the same phone call.

Yes just decline the featured title, that simple. Just make sure you cancel before the deadline. I'm not sure exactly how long the deadline but it's a good while, just check your emails.

Each cycle should be exactly 4 weeks -- Today's cycle started and ends 9/9 though I usually suggest declining at least 2-3 days ahead of the deadline. That very last day confuses the system sometimes

Even the times of the year where there are 2 extra seasonal cycles overlap the regular cycle, each of the 15 individual cycles is exactly 28 days.
Expected cycles the rest of this year
8/13 - 9/9
9/10 - 10/7
10/8 - 11/4
10/22 - 11/18
11/5 - 12/2
12/ 3 - 12/30

I try to plan movie purchases around FTs. If there's a big release I know I want (Marvel, Star Wars, a big animated movie, one of the major live action titles), I'll put other titles I want in my cart and wait until an FT I want is live. Once the FT I ordered wound up not being the "full price" item and I got it for $12.50. (It was the new editions of Hocus Pocus and Nightmare Before Christmas in a slipbox, so that seemed to be quite the discount.)

Now that I got a free shipping account, the deals ought to be really good.

Anyone think it is weird that Alaadin 2019 doesn't have a 4K release as a feature title but 1992 animated does?

The problem with the 4k titles is, most are $34.95 on their site. Many that are that price on their site are already around $23-$25 on Amazon. So what's the benefit of buying the 4k titles on Disney's site? Even with their 40% discount, it ends up being about the same price as Amazon's every day price. The only real benefit I can see is the exclusives. I don't buy much Disney these days. I joined to grab The Black Hole and used the chance to get a few other exclusives I normally can't get.

I don't like the idea of the automatic shipments thing. If you forget to cancel an upcoming shipment, which happens every month, then you'll get charged. So that's another thing I have to worry about remembering month-to-month. I don't need another thing to have to remember each month or I'll get charged for something I don't want. It's just another hassle, like getting 3 free months of HBO but having to remember to cancel it or you'll start getting charged, or those old magazine subscriptions where you get 5 magazine subscriptions for free for a few months, in the hopes you'll forget to cancel and end up with multiple year-long subscriptions. I already have enough things to keep track of.

If I thought they were releasing Watcher in the Woods soon, I'd hang onto the membership for a while to have access to that one. But, I know me, and I'll eventually forget to decline a title, and next thing I know I'm charged for it.

Is there a list of all the exclusives that are available with your enrollment order?

Once you're a VIP member the lowest discount is 50% and 5-6 times a year (plus the bonus offer) it's 60% off the rest of the order. It's really not that hard to remember to decline the FT over 28 days and 4-5 reminders (I usually decline mine Day 1 and forget it), but even if you do forget it's pretty easy to return it. You are correct that you aren't going save a lot buying 1-2 at a time

I'm not sure how many of the current 35 4K titles you wanted, but that total will likely be close to 55 by the end of the year.

If you save the 60% Bonus offer or wait until the next Monthly 60% offer -- with the new batch of Pixar 4K in Sept and rest of teh Marvel that are rumored for Oct, more than in theory you could end up getting close to $15 ea with big single order. I think somebody recent did a 30-40+ title order -- biggest I've ever heard of.

Best news -- the ability to re-enroll with the great Promo codes makes 2nd thoughts easier since you're aren't locked out if you change your mind.

I might even suggest staying through the end of the year if no other reason just to see what the next exclusive might be in ??Oct and see how the system actually works. A lot of times the exclusives have trailed off after August, but with the gap early in the year and Disney+ coming up, they might end up pushing some interesting titles in Q4. OTOH if you have another 6-8 eligible titles ready to buy now, it makes just as sense to cancel and rejoin soon
