I happen to own this set and one of the season (I believe one before the last) is region B locked. The rest are in fact region free. Poor reasoning from Sony but that season is locked tight (confirmed using my Region A panasonic Blu ray player).

You will need a Region -B or Multi Region player for Season 5 (checked my set to confirm), S1 -S4 and S6 are Region ABC.

I wholly endorse this show. It is inarguably one of the best written IMO. Like so many before it, the early seasons had a very procedural feel to them with case of the week type deals and then matured into season-wide stories that had procedural taking a back (but present) seat.

Walton Goggins as Boyd Crowder in this...Well, fun tidbit. Walton sold Boyd so damn well that he was initially intended to be a one off character for the pilot, but somehow was kept on by his performance...and he got written as one of the best characters from a TV series I have ever experienced.

Thanks for sharing this critical piece of information. I would have ordered the box set otherwise. Too bad as it's a great price, but I was going to buy this as gift for a relative who I'm sure doesn't own a region free player.

Rather then canceling my order I may just order season 5 Blu-Ray and swap the region locked disc with the US discs. Still the cheapest option to get this show. Any thoughts?

I wish I would have known it wasn't completely region free when I ordered it. Of course Amazon lists it as Region Free, so I'll be taking it up with them after I get it.

Kept my order and found season 5 for $9. So I'll just replace the season 5 discs from the set. Still a solid buy and ends up being around $37 or so.

Are seasons 1-4 and 6 the exact same discs as the USA prints?

It isn't their fault though and Sony has to take the blame for that. The outer package lists it as Region ABC and the Section that has both S5 and S6 also lists Region ABC.

The Discs of S5 are the ones that have Region B only printed on them meaning that Amazon has no way of knowing this unless Sony relays that information to them.

Still, they're mis-advertising it. They should have some responsibility for that.
