Loved Xenoblade, must of put over a hundred hours into that game.

This will be my big game this year.

The cover of Xenoblade X truly looks like a masterpiece!

A game not to miss out on the Wii U!

2015 games I'll be picking up:
- Yoshi's Wolly World *pre-ordered*
- Splatoon *pre-ordered*
- Xenoblade X
- Devil's Third

Not really sure about Project C.A.R.S (if they offer Nintendo-themed cars I might go for it) or Rodea the Sky Soldier from what I've seen of Rodea's Wii U version you're actually better off getting the Wii version for a much better experience and visuals!

New story trailer with a fan translation:

Seems a lot more -saga than -blade, but I liked the former more anyway.

A Special Edition confirmed for US finally.

Must be different from the EU release based on the wording.

Hopefully its available to buy at more places than just at Nintendo Time Square store like Nintendo's has done for their other 2014/2015 special edition games.

So much agreed. I'm still miffed about not getting a MK8 shell. I'm hoping it's more than a steel and artbook but I can't really think of much else I'd actually want with it anyway.

Xenoblade Chronicles X Character DLC will be free outside of Japan, Strategy Guide Detailed.

An article in the latest issue of Game Informer reveals a few new details about the release of Xenoblade Chronicles X in the west. First, Monolith Software confirms that all character-focused DLC will be free in North America and Europe. This DLC was a paid expansion in Japan, as was the quest DLC. No details were given on the quest-based expansions in other regions, so it is safe to assume they might stay behind a paywall.

This (now free) DLC will add four new characters to Xenoblade Chronicles X that you can recruit for your team. One character, known as Lynlee in the Japanese version of the game, is being edited for the worldwide release. This character will now be known as Lin Lee and has been aged up from 13 to 15, most likely to avoid some of the controversial swimsuit costumes she can wear.

Prima has revealed plans for Xenoblade Chronicles X’s strategy guide as well. A standard and hardcover collector’s edition will be available when the game launches. Check out some details here:

  • The Xenoblade Chronicles X Collector’s Edition Guide includes…
  • Deluxe hardcover: The beautiful hardcover edition of the guide will have premium treatments.
  • Screen cleaner: Includes a high-quality, microfiber screen cleaner featuring art from the game.
  • Explore everything: Our detailed walkthrough will guide players through all regions of this massive open world.
  • Customize your gameplay: Learn the best ways to customize your character and Skell to match your playstyle.
  • Master combat: Proven battle tactics on how to defeat each enemy and boss.
  • All the secrets: Complete details on all secrets in the game.
  • Free mobile-friendly eGuide! Includes a code to access the eGuide, a digital version of the complete strategy guide optimized for a second-screen experience.
  • These limited edition guides will only be printed once. When they are sold out, they will be gone forever!
Xenoblade Chronicles X hits the Wii U on December 4.

This isn't story driven like the previous one, is it?

I don't know, but it seems to take after the -saga series which was more story driven than the first Chronicles.

Saga was meant to be a spiritual successor to Gears, but the games were cut short and never really got to the stuff in Gears.

Chronicles is completely different and was originally named after the Monado Blade of which the story revolves around, but was later changed to add the Xeno moniker to make sure everyone knew Takahashi was the creative force behind it.

Has Gamestop been the only place to pre-order the LE in the US so far?
