Default Paper Mario Color Splash to launch 2016

Announced during the Nintendo Direct today, we are indeed getting a Paper Mario for the WiiU.

Paper Mario: Color Splash will come to Nintendo Wii U later this year, Nintendo announced.

The game is the latest in the Paper Mario series and the first to come to Nintendo's home console. Just last month, Nintendo released Mario and Luigi: Paper Jam, a crossover between Paper Mario and the Mario and Luigi RPG series.

The game looks nice from a graphics stand point, but that's all i'll say about it. Can't say that i'm all too excited for it after being burned so hard on Sticker Star (Hated that game) and so far, this one looks to be just like Sticker Star...

Exactly my thoughts as well. Let's hope they reveal more soon.

The Paper Mario series is solid but my wish is still for a proper sequel to Super Mario RPG. Nintendo can accomplish it on their own without Square. At least the Wii U is getting a couple more games before it dies off in favor of the NX.

Yeah I feel like I'm just biding my time with Nintendo until NX is officially announced. Star Fox is tempting but no online PVP mode is a huge turn off. Mario Sonic Olympics? Pass! Paper Mario? No thanks! I'm just going save my dollars and continue to wait it out until NX is unveiled.

Um, was hoping for something better than this. It looks like Paper Mario meets Splatoon or Mario Sunshine. It's nice to finally have a Paper Mario game in HD but still.

And what in the hell is with Nintendo releasing YET another Kirby 2D traditional platformer on the 3DS but not for the Wii U? We got that GamePad touchscreen game which was OK but it should have been released on the 3DS instead.

I'm almost ashamed to admit it, but I've never actually played a Paper Mario game.

This game seems to have gotten quite a bit of backlash, but I thought it looked pretty cool from what they showed in the Direct. What seems to be so awful about it that I'm missing? O__o

I gotta say, it looks freaking great. I wonder though how labor intensive this, Kirby and Yoshi were with their distinct styles.

The combat. It seems pretty similar to Sticker Star, which means it will be awful.

I wonder about that with a lot of Nintendo developed titles to be honest with you. I hope to see Nintendo raise their production values on their in-house titles with NX because it does seem to me that a lot of Nintendo developed games seem to lack ambition and are "safe bets."
