I have a PSW10 sub I live in a condo complex on the 3rd floor. I was watching TDK last week and the guy that lives on the first floor came up to complain about the bass I couldn't belive it!!! I'm also thinking about getting a second sub, maybe the guy across the street will be the next one to complain

wow---3rd floor complaint from someone on the 1st floor?!

I just picked up my 2nd PSW10 yesterday, will have it hooked up as soon as my cables arrive. Thankfully I live on the other side of a small duplex, but will be ordering Acoustic Sound-proofing shortly as well - along with a Sound-deadening Drape/curtain for the doorway!

Polk just recently released their MicroPro line of smaller yet very powerful subwoofers. I have heard some of them.. and they are impressive for their small size.. a bit on the pricey side for me though... but they sound really, really good.

Just received and hooked up my second PSW-10.. All I can say is wow, awesome. Spend the $100 and get another, seriously do it

I am on the verge of getting a new sub (actually, I think 2) for my set up, as I desperately need one (two) . Anyway, with my Onkyo 605, if I use a Y splitter from my subwoofer on the 605 and run 2 subwoofer cables to the subs, can this work and would it power sufficiently the 2 subs like the PSW-10 without losing anything? Sub knowledge is something I lack and is an area I want to improve on....

I have a PSW505 (along with RTi6's and a CSiA4 - check the gallery) and LOVE it.

I can't say I have a ton of experience in audio - as this is my first setup, but this is a HUGE step up from my old HTiB set.

The sub weighs in at 49lbs, the Delivery guy looked like he was about to blow out his back carrying it up our front steps. Is sounds amazing, lots of bass - and very sturdy.

I used to have 2 guitar hero guitars sitting on top of it, propped against the wall. I've had to move them to the other side of the room, because they kept being knocked down.

I lost absolutely no power with using the Y splitter and using two subs now... I have them both set at 50% power on the subwoofer end and set at 0 on the receiver.

Aw Poop! I forgot, I already have a Y splitter hooked up to my 605, going out to my current sub and the other to my Buttkicker. Can you use another Y splitter off of the current Y splitter, using the end hooked up currently to my sub and run 2 subs off of that end? I think I know what this answer is going to be, but stupid asks...stupid gets. Damn you 605 and your lack of pre-outs!!!!

I'm sure you can.. I don't know if the more you are splitting the signal if you loose anything but I assume after multiple splits you would. Anyone have experience splitting multiple times?

With any analog signal you split you're going to lose some of the total possible information you would initially get if you hadn't split the signal.

I'm not ot familiar with that model of sub, but some have an input and output aswell. If so you can 'daisy-chain' and go from one sub hooked to the other.

Just wire them in a series? I always wondered what the outs were for on the woofer.

Yep. You connect one sub to the preout on the receiver, then the other sub to the out on the 1st sub. Hope that makes sense?

The most i've seen hooked up in one system is 6 (all bar the center). My manual says IIRC is 10 can be hooked up this way. LOL

4 will be enough for what i am have in mind. I will probably split off the avr and do 2 and 2

front 2 in a series and back 2 in a series

PSW-111...surprisingly adequate for small/medium-rooms. Despite having an 8" driver - definitely better than the PSW10 or any others Polk has on that spectrum, not to mention it'll pass a WAF test.

For $100 more you can get the eD 300 sure, but that one is 2x the volume!

Back in the day i tried a few polk subs at home...

psw404 - Tried this, and found the bass to be relatively slow and it really didn't go that low. I took it back and swapped it for a psw 505...

psw505 - I found pretty much the same thing with this model too, although it did extend a little further. I couldn't get it to blend the way i liked it and we could only put it down to the fact that it was a little sluggish. A friend had a psw650 (dual 10's, older model) and it beat the 505 hands down.

Result - I returned the 505 and waited for a 2nd hand 650 to come up. The replacement model for the psw650 is the psw1000 which i have never heard, nor have i ever listened to any of the new models, so i cant add anything on those really.

Everybody hears things differently though so i wouldn't go past at least trying them. Good luck finding what you like....

Sorry just saw this. Ya I'd be happy to. From what I've gotten from it so far I'm VERY happy with it.

Once I break it in and get it all setup correctly I'll let you know what I think (and post some pics!)
