Default Beyond Rangoon

Did anyone else like this movie and wish Warner would release it on Blu-ray?

Personally, I think this was one of Patricia Arquette's best films.

For those who don't know what this film is about, Patricia Arquette stars as American widow Laura Bowman, a young doctor who is unwittingly drawn into political turmoil while vacationing in Burma in the late 1980s. It is a fictionalized drama based on actual events. Bowman initially left San Francisco with her sister (Frances McDormand) in an attempt to escape painful memories of her husband and son's violent deaths, but her fight to escape to Thailand could prove just as harrowing.

Thumbs up Beyond Rangoon Blu-ray

I agree that this amazing film would be spectacular on blu-ray. This 1995 foilom starring the dynamic Patricia Arquette has not gotten the attention it deserves. The acting, story, photography, and music are wonderful, and would benefit from a strong blu-ray transfer.

The DVd transfer is good, however the sound and landscape woulod only be better on blu-ray, even without a pricy transfer. Keep the digital noise and film grain intact; it preserves the gritty and realistic feel to this picture.

Come on Warner Brothers, you cna do it!

This movie is really underrated. With even crappy Mill Creek getting their mitts on another underrated mid-90s adult oriented drama for blu release (RETURN TO PARADISE), I can only hope someone will release this one. I know Castle Rock (WB) produced it, but I think Sony distributed theatrically. If Warner actually has the home video rights and is just holding things like this, LONE STAR, and PROOF OF LIFE back for the HBO Max launch, I'll be really disappointed.
