Never saw this one. How does it stack up against other Giallo's?

Not well, one of the weakest Gialli IMO. For completists. I have a previous release that might very well never get watched again.

Yeah - not a fan either. No suspense - boring lpcation and i can't even remember the score. Grab it while on sale.

I revisited this film over the weekend with the 88 Films release. I actually think it's pretty good.

I wasn't a big fan the first time I saw it (back on DVD a few years ago), probably because it doesn't serve up a great deal of the exploitation elements and psychosexual undertones you come to expect from gialli, but it's a solid mystery, well shot, has a pretty good prog-inspired score and an interesting backstory behind the plot twist which adds some extra meaning to the method of some murders etc.

I'd recommend it, there are far worse out there and would say it's more a middle tier gialllo than a lower tier giallo. I agree though that you will likely be disappointed if you're hoping for more exploitation elements.

I thought it was a borefest. Even the murders are dull and uninspired.

Frankly speaking, it's kinda shame Synapse took their time with this one.
I've tried several times to like this film and did re-watch it recently, but still no luck.
Bava's Shock or The Spider Labyrinth (1988) would be MORE welcome than this meh giallo!
