What does an independent film-maker do if s/he has shot a 35mm film and wishes to release a BD version of it? Is BD currently in the exclusive realm of the major studios?
Are BD cameras, sound equipment and editing facilities still a long way off for shooting and editing directly on DB? |

You don't want to shoot directly on BD, even though you can because the cost of the media is expensive. Most HD cameras (1080i/p) are tape based with some as HDD- or DVD-based. Once you capture your footage to your PC/Mac, you can edit from there to be burned using a BD burner drive.
There is a company that recently opened its BD facility. Click on BlueRayTechnologies.com here. They don't do telecine (which is what's needed to transfer 35mm to digital video files) but they may know a company that can do it for you. fuad |
