Default Just got Sony SR12

It took some wheeling and dealing at BB but I walked away with (well not with as they dont carry these in store but it will be delievered next week) with the Sony HDR-SR12 camcorder for $1150 which is actually $50 cheaper than what they are selling the SR11 for. I am looking forward to getting it next week and playing with it a bit. Now I just need to decide on Sony Vegas, Nero or Pinnacle (i think) for software to edit and burn. Anyone have preferences on the 3?

I would go with Vegas 8 Pro + DVD Architect. Sony suppose to release DVDA 5 very soon which will have Blu-ray authoring.

Ok i am on monoprice right now trying to buy the mini hdmi cable, battery and memory card for the sr12 but I am a bit confused on the memory card. The camcorder says it is compatible with memory stick duo or memory stick pro duo. i do not see these listed on monoprice of course but I figure that is just sony's way to make more money is to only list their memory sticks. My question is monoprice has Micro SD (Micro Secure Digital), SD (Secure Digital), SD 150X (Secure Digital 150X) and SDHC (Secure Digital High-Capacity), will any of these work with the sr12? or is there a difference btw a memory stick and a flash card? If so which of these 4 categories should i be looking at? Thanks.

I don't think you will really need a card for it.... on the highest quality setting (1080x1920 @ 16mbs) you will get 14hrs and 40mins. No card will offer a significant percentage of that in my opinion.

Well the card wouldnt really be for recording, it would be for pictures i think? The camera just came in the mail today but i havent had a chance to open it up yet and see what it is made of.

the cam will keep the stills separate from the video files, it's easy to import either, using photo or video software.
