Default DC Comics April 2013 Solicitations

Full April Solicitations

Lets see...I'll be gettin:

Justice League of America #3
Batman Inc #10
Batman #19
Green Lantern #19
Green Lantern Corps #19
Red Lanterns #19
Constantine #2
Sword of Sorcery #7
Justice League Dark #19
Animal Man #19
Fairest #14
Fables #128

Might grab the new He-Man and the Masters of the Universe #1

Curious of the Katana series from Ann Nocenti and can't help but wonder what the hell is happening in that JLA Vibe mini. I last bought anything with that character when he died way back in the original Justice League of America series when it tied into the Legends mini-series.

LOVE that Christy Marx is now on Birds of Prey and Jim Starlin is writing Stormwatch. Dunno if I'm getting either, but they're TOTAL quality writers and should generate some interest.

My pull list includes:

Animal Man #19
Batman #19
Batman Incorporated #10
Batman & Robin #19
Batman: The Dark Knight #19
Detective Comics #19 (Love what John Layman is doing with the title!)
Green Lantern #19
Nightwing #19
Swamp Thing # 19 (Choked that Snyder is off this title but Kano doing art makes me happy!)
Talon # 7
Wonder Woman #19

I'm stopping Batwoman and Flash at issue #17/18 so this is a lighter month for me. I'm still undecided if I want to pick up Constantine - Jeff Lemire is one of my favourite writers but the Dark/Magic side of DC has never appealed to me much. The lack of Vertigo titles also makes me really sad - no more Sweet Tooth or Punk Rock Jesus!

Trade wise - I might pick up the Solo HC because there's so much talent involved but the price tag is a tad high for my liking.

I'm mad to be NOT able to just continue buying HELLBLAZER! lol I mean the book is needlessly ending and restarting in non-Vertigo land. Sucks because I love John's wife and she'll likely be eliminated from his continuity. But Lemire is a great writer and I feel obligated to at least try it. I happen to love JLD so that isn't a factor for me.

That Solo HC does look interesting, but I have the man single issues I wanted, so I don't really "need" it.

It really seems like DC is trying to eliminate Vertigo from their line-up (it'd probably be gone by now if Fables wasn't around). It's a shame!

I'm glad to hear JLD is good - I tried the first few issues but couldn't get into it but when Lemire jumped on board - I got curious so I'll probably pick up the trade which under DC's current release schedule will be a life-time away...
