As far as the OP is concerned... great guy... NOT.
He sends me a PM last week with all kinds of questions, I answer all of them and haven't heard a word back since.
I guess our reputation of being impolite is justified.

I hate it when people ask all sorts of questions by PM - recently got one too on this board, not by the OP by the way. Why not ask in public, so others can gain from the info as well. Annoying.

Oh - and I'm Belgian too. Do just about all of my shopping on the UK-sites.

First time I meet a fellow Luxembourger on a US forum

I bought most of my Blu-rays (about 50 discs so far) from amazon.co.uk, because UK prices are much lower than in Germany or France, and shipping costs are low too.

Shipping from amazon.fr to Belgium is free for orders over 20€, but that doesn't compensate the big price difference between the UK and the european continent.

I order a lot of CDs in the US, but for Blu-ray (or DVD) this usually isn't worth it, because the UK prices are so attractive.

Of course it also depends on your needs concerning language tracks & subtitles, so check those info. I watch US movies in english and occasionally use english subs, so UK Blu-rays are fine for me.

I'm also from Belgium, moved to London a few years ago tho! Prices for BD and DVDs are just ridiculous in Belgium. I keep being amazed how fast prices drop over here in the UK after a few months hehe

Sometimes I also buy from this website, dunno if they ship overseas... http://www.101cd.com/

I also go to bol.com to buy DVD's for my grandad, they are really cheap! BD's still overpriced tho, can't believe they charge like 30 euros for 1 movie lol

I must say that some of the recent Blu-ray releases in Belgium/The Netherlands have lower prices than before. for example:

Saving private ryan: €17.99 (cheaper than ordering it from amazon.co.uk)
Boondock Saints: 14.99 in Belgium, €12.99 in the Netherlands
And a whole bunch of movies for €19.99

New blockbuster releases like Avatar are still way too expensive at €24.99 or €29.99

Hi, I have been curious what dvds they sell in Luxembourg? German dvds? French dvds? Luxembourg dvd company dvds?

When I lived in Switzerland, i loved how the French parts (geneva) had the French dvds and the German parts ( zurich) had the german dvds. So now ig im seeking a French dvd/bluray that has english subtitles, i research the dvda coming from France, Canada, and Switzerland.

101cd.com = base.com = blahdvd.com (all the same company).

Their parcels to Belgium are actually shipped from Switzerland.
£1 shipping charges per blu-ray.

Hello everybody,

First post, so here goes: I'm from Limburg, but currently living in Antwerp.

I've bought some Blurays of Amazon.co.uk - excellent service!
Last week I bought: The Batman Collection (1989-1997) + Batman box (Batman begins + Dark Knight) + 007's Casino Royal for only 65€ (incl shipping) => roughly 9.2 € / bluray disc.

Couple of weeks ago I bought the James Bond Collection vol.1 for only 35 € in Saturn Wilrijk (pretty cheap, even compared with Amazon.co.uk: £46)
I'm interested in collecting all remastered James Bond movies (but not in a hurry).

I have 7.1 home theater system, but no movies yet to test it. Anyone some recommendations? I've seen the thread with the list of 7.1 bluray titles, but not sure yet (already some movies, but not interested in buying them).

grtz,
Joris

It's actually a mix of all the surrounding countries. So depending in which store you are, you can have French, German & Belgian Releases! Mostly you just have one version. For Blockbuster releases (Avatar, LOTR) they often get the French & German Releases.

Hi

Free Record Shop (be + nl)
Bol.com
Amazon.co.uk
