That's more or less how it's done.

Not worrying about single issues and slabs are lame

Smile Comics...

I don't have any photos of my comics, but have full long boxes. About 5 of them. I am a BIG collector of comics, even more so than Blu-ray's. I get the previews catalogs and know two months in advance what I'll want to read and order through comic dealers.

I go for complete sets. Currently finishing up Avengers Vs. X-men and starting Batman, "Death of the Family." The "New 52" got me into DC comics heavily, and picking up "MARVEL NOW!" as well.

Been a MAJOR collector since 1986, off and on.

The Avengers Vs. X-men, leading into Marvel Now! was just pure luck that I walked into getting those. I had been collecting comics that sounded "cool" at the time, going back to Avenger's Children's Crusade and it all ended up leading into MARVEL NOW! totally by accident.

With the movies coming out now and DC and MARVEL's exec. decisions to do what they're doing, I am again excited about comics, for the first major time in forever!

Good time to be a collector!!!!

Nice. Could you show the shelves individually? I would like to see what you have.

These are all the non-TMNT books:

Everything else is TMNT. Here's some highlights:

Collected books from Mirage and the new IDW series.

Box full of back issues. I have all of Volume 1 except for a couple of "City At War" issues. All of Volume 1 is 1st printings except for issue 1. There's also issues from Volumes 2, 3, 4, the Archie series, one shots, and various Mirage books in this box.

Here's a small box I've yet to sort.

Here's a first printing of #2 signed by Peter Laird.

I have several versions of TMNT Collected Volume 1. Here's a 2nd printing signed by Peter Laird.

Here's a much harder to find 3rd printing signed by Kevin Eastman.

Here's a Matt Slay sketch cover of the IDW Leonardo Micro Series that I got him to do recently. I requested that he do a mirror image of Leo but in Samurai gear.

Here's some original art:

Here's a copy of Heavy Metal's Artobiography that features the last piece of art work I have:

And here's the piece from that photo of Kevin Eastman:

Bluelines from the color version of issue 1

That's all for now.

Awesome tmnt collection! Who is your favorite turtle?
I've noticed a lot of batman readers don't have haunted knight, why is that?

Definitely enjoy the new IDW series. I'm most excited that Kevin Eastman is pretty involved in the creative process. The 2012 annual was Eastman's first original TMNT story in 20 years or so. I'm glad they are re-releasing a lot of the original series, more specifically the hardcover collections. They are definitely milking the franchise with the bump created from the new cartoon. Haven't been following the new cartoon, though.

As a collector, my only problem with IDW is with individual issues. There are way too many variant covers. I'm limited to just reading the trades.

To quote a line from Michelangelo to Donatello in TMNT II, "Is like Schwarzenegger hard to spell?"

^ Nice!

Some pretty awesome collections on here, guys. It's great to see this amazing hobby continuing to thrive amongst the Blu-ray (i.e. tech savvy) crowd!

I've been collecting since I was 7. These are some of my gems:

Amazing Spiderman 50.jpg

Fantastic Four 48.jpg

Hulk 181.jpg

Giant Size Xmen 1.jpg

Thor 126.jpg

I stopped collecting about 7-8 years ago. It was just getting too hard to keep up with the slew of books coming out each week, and the prices were getting out of control.

Besides, now there's this whole Blu-ray thing going on.
