Default So, what'd you buy this week?

While I could have started this on "new comics Wednesday," I just figured I could start with what I bought last week...especially since I can't make it to the shop in the middle of the week. So, here is what I nabbed on Saturday:

Batman Incorporated #7
Dollar Bill #1
Fables #125
FF #3
Green Lantern #16
Green Lantern Corps #16
Green Lantern Corps Annual #1
Hellblazer #299
Justice League Dark #16
Minute Men #6
Ozymandias #5
Rachel Rising #14
Red Lanterns #16
Sword of Sorcery #4
Uncanny X-Force #1

I'm pretty DC heavy and I think that was a 2-week pickup. Just read JLD and while I love the book, it didn't grab me and my attention wandered to the Travel Channel more than focusing upon reading.

Uncanny X-Force I wrote about a little in another thread...great issue.

Sword of Sorcery has been excellent, until this issue which had a fill in artist and even though the same writer was on it, it didn't seem so. Lackluster overall and I hope that isn't a sign of things to come because this was something like Game of Thrones for DC.

Still reading the rest!

Great thread idea!

Last week's haul:

Batman & Robin Annual # 1 (Fantastic stand alone issue - especially for Damian fans)
Batman Incorporated # 7 (It's Grant Morrison, he writes a fine Batman)
Batman: The Dark Knight # 17 (The art drives this book - glad that Ethan Van Sciver took over for Finch)
Superior Spider-Man # 2 (I don't get the hate - I'm enjoying the Ock-Spidey a lot)
Talon # 4 (Still in my read pile)

I also pre-ordered trades of the All-New X-Men and Hawkeye

Hadn't bought a comic book in years, but something possessed me to go to our local comic book store tonight to see what they had. I didn't get much, but ended up buying:

Punisher: Ghosts of Innocents Books 1&2
Green Lantern: The New 52 1&2

*EDIT*
After reading the comics I bought earlier this week in a span of a couple days, I went to the comic store again yesterday and picked up:

Superman Action Comics: The New 52 #0
Green Lantern: The New 52 #3
Space Punisher #1&2

Don't buy floppies. Checked out a few digital books today (Detective, Green Arrow, DC Valentine's Special).
Buy plenty of trades, though. I've received these the last week or so:

Batman: Black Glove Deluxe (Over-sized HC)
Batman & Robin vol. 3 (Over-sized HC)
Blackest Night: Green Lantern Corps (HC)
Flash: Dastardly Death of the Rouges (HC)
Batman & Robin vol. 1+2
Batman: Whatever Happened to the Caped Crusader?
All-Star Batman & Robin
Death of Superman
Teen Titans: A Kid's Game
Batman: Long Shadows
Final Crisis: Rogues' Revenge
Flash: Rebirth
Batman Beyond: Industrial Revolution
Daredevil Visionaries: Kevin Smith
Daredevil: Father
Spawn: Death and Rebirth

Probably some others. Been filling my shelf up like crazy.

I mostly buy comics for my 3 year old and my toddler. I usually only pop into the comic shop to buy Superman Family Adventures and maybe 1 other random comic, but this week I bought a bunch of new ones to us just to see what we end up liking.

Avengers #1, obviously a mistake for a newcomer.
[Show spoiler]I have no clue what is going on or who this alien god is on Mars. Also the Avengers are only on 2 pages then revealed at the end that there is now a new group Avengers.

Superman Family Adventures #9 Love this series, great for all ages and never a doubt that it won't entertain. We are fans of Tiny Titans and love how those characters sometimes pop up in this series.

My Little Pony #1 Bought it for the wife to read with my kids, but we don't watch the TV show. She said it relies on you already knowing the characters and this universe.

Monsters Inc 2 of 2 Already had the first one, have not read this one. I expect it to be exactly like the first and be a panel by panel clone of the movie. Which is cool with me.

Looney Tunes #211

Anyone else pick up comics to read to their really young kids? If so I'm open to recommendations.

I go to my comic shop at the end of the month usually and pick up the months worth of comics and read them when I have time. The downfall to doing this means I am usually a month behind everyone else, haha, oh well it works for me. Here is what I got for last month, I usually don't get this many but the cross over events for Batman Death of the Family are awesome and I have been picking up the side issues also.

I don't buy this title for kids, but I do buy it for my self. It is called Super Dinosaur. Very kid friendly and is great for adults as well. It is written by Robert Kirkman TWD/Invincible. Seriously give it a try it is a really fun and action packed book.

I got my trade paperback of The Oz/Wonderland Chronicles: Prelude to Evil in the mail from BuyMeToys.

Also got a couple Oz/Wonderland bookmarks which are awesome.

Also read the new Walking Dead. Kind of a copout the way it resolved the ending to last month's, but I've been disappointed with Kirkland on a few things, not least of which is the over the top cursing of Negan. It just really takes away from what otherwise is a solid book.

I pick up stuff every Wednesday that I am too lazy to list, but with a 20% coupon that B&N sent me, I was able to pick up The Walking Dead Compendium Vol. 1 for just under 30 dollars.

These days, I'm only going to the shop about once a month (whenever the new issue of Walking Dead comes out). So this week I got...

The Walking Dead #107
The Walking Dead: The Governor Special (I have these stories in their original publications but I like the cover!)
Fury: My War Gone By #9
Before Watchmen: The Comedian #5
Before Watchmen: Minutemen #6
Before Watchmen: Dollar Bill 1 Shot
Before Watchmen: Ozymandias #5
Ferals #12
Hit-Girl #5
Fashion Beast #'s 5 & 6
Crossed: Badlands #'s 21, 22, & 23

I have yet to read any of the Before Watchmen stuff as I'm waiting for the entire run to conclude. Same deal with Alan Moore's Fashion Beast. Walking Dead has been my current favorite series since its inception. Ennis' return to the Punisher MAX universe in Fury has been totally solid. Both Crossed and Ferals continue what's been a fantastic run for Avatar Publishing. And Hit-Girl? It's been entertaining if underwhelming. Maybe that wouldn't be the case if they'd released it chronologically, before Kick Ass 2.
