![]() EDIT: Placed one of my birthday orders at instocktrades. Was able to get both volumes of Seven Soldiers, Return of Bruce Wayne and JLA deluxe vol 1. My Morrison collection is coming along quite nicely. Last edited by MykeHavoc; 03-12-2013 at 08:14 AM. |

Two weeks worth:
Batman 18 Batman and Robin 18 Batgirl 18...and then had to buy 17 too The Rocketeer: Hollywood Horror 2 Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Season 9 19 I'm not a Damian fan, skipping pretty much all of Morrison's stories about him. So I skipped Batman Inc. 8 too. I heartfeltly that Batman and DC 18 were very well written and made me care a bit more about the kid since he obviously left a hole in my fave hero. I also got the following collected books over the past couple of weeks from Amazon: Batman: The Black Mirror (the only Snyder Bat-tales I have left to read; halfway through and as usual, he does not disappoint) Green Lantern Vol 2: Revenge of the Black Hand Superman: Red Son Last edited by Gone2HiDef; 03-15-2013 at 06:36 PM. Reason: changed Detective Comics to Batman and Robin |

I browsed through the first few pages of the first Batman and Robin collected volume when Grayson was Batman, but it didn't draw my interest. I have Morrison's The Return of Bruce Wayne, and I'm actually re-reading it right now, sort of to see if my opinion of it has changed. It hasn't. And I never warmed to the Batman Inc. concept. But my comic shop owner says Damian finally grew on him towards the end. So perhaps what he was doing in Batman just went over my head. I gotta admit, I do feel like I'm missing out. I'm sure one day I'll give the tpb of the N52 Batman and Robin a try and see if I can still with it to the end.

The New 52 'B&R' is written by Peter Tomasi. Not required reading but certainly still quite good. |

My pleasure! Morrison is certainly not for everyone, but I feel that under the right circumstances, most anyone can at least enjoy his imaginative scope if they're given "keys" here and there. It's quite multi-layered and each re-read is more rewarding.
Check out this link. Awesome reading guide here: http://comicsastonish.com/2012/01/04...risons-batman/ Beyond what I listed earlier, "Arkham Asylum" (an all-time classic) and "Gothic" (a short arc from Legends of the Dark Knight) are his other solo Batman works. His take on the character is also featured in the 4 JLA Deluxe editions they put out. If you're a Superman fan at all, "All-Star Superman" is often regarded as the definitive Man of Steel story, as well as his current run on "Action Comics". Also, the gigantic epic DC universe story "Final Crisis" he wrote is a total head-trip, and runs simultaneously with the events of "RIP". Ties into that story, though not necessary (Batman's specific parts are reiterated in more detail in the "Time and the Batman" trade). But still, highly recommended if you don't do drugs and need your mind blown ![]() But seriously, the list goes on and on. That's just the majority of his mainstream DC stuff. He did New X-Men and a whole slew of Vertigo books. I love my meat and potato story-telling as much as the next guy, but I also need my understandings of the universe expanded once in a while, and his books are an easy access point to other realms, I swear ![]() Last edited by MykeHavoc; 03-16-2013 at 08:26 PM. |
