A television legend, Crossroads was one of ITV's most popular shows. Starring the immortal Noele Gordon as Meg Richardson, the trials and tribulations of the Midlands' premier motel, its staff and patrons enthralled, amused and sometimes horrified millions of viewers for the best part of three decades! A huge presence on ITV from the 1950s onwards, Gordon consistently won viewer awards through the '60s and '70s for both her own performance and for the series with which she is forever linked.

Nearly two decades in the making, Crossroads: The Noele Gordon Collection is an exclusive box set of 94 discs (over 700 shows) containing every known existing episode from the earliest surviving show through to Gordon's final performance in November 1981 (wrapping the set up with the last show transmitted by ATV on New Year's Eve 1981).

Certainly a hefty boxset. Is it going to wobble, like some said (apparently) happened with the sets on the original Crossroads series?

I do remember for a time watching it regularly as the eighties went on, certainly towards the end (Gabrielle Drake I remember on the series well, along with villain Adam, and a character (Stan) who looked a bit like the actor who plays Eric Pollard on Emmerdale). The episode I have a vague memory about, but the setting of the scene is clear, was when

[Show spoiler]Meg's daughter (played by Jane Rossington) called out to her mother, who she thought was caught inside the motel which was on fire on Bonfire Night.

When I saw this addition to the Coming Soon section on Network's website yesterday (Thursday), I was thinking in the back of my mind that there had been previous DVD releases of Crossroads by Network, but I might have been getting confused with Coronation Street and/or Emmerdale. But I think you said McCrutchy in a post in the UK & Ireland sub-forum that there had been previous releases of Crossroads by Network which are now out-of-print (?). Have checked the IMDb section for Crossroads, and there is front cover artwork for some or all of Network's previous DVD sets of Crossroads.

Yes, they did 4 "best of" volumes, then 21 releases of surviving episodes from '65-'78. Sales dropped off so they stopped and reissued those 21 volumes in a 45th Anniversary boxset which went out of print when the 2011 riots torched Sony DADC warehouse who manufactured and handled the logistics for Network.

So, this is finally going to reissue all bar one episode (1 episode on the best of volumes is an '83 episode without Meg so won't be on here) plus hundreds of others never before released.

If you have already received your recent purchase of Crossroads - The Noele Gordon Collection, and if you have made it all the way to Disc 14 you will have noticed that we made an error during manufacturing. This means that Disc 14 and Disc 17 are duplicated with the same episodes. Turns out, you can have too much of a good thing.

Rest assured, I am on the case and will be manufacturing a replacement disc and sending it out to you free of charge. My plan is to have these arriving with you as soon as possible, and I really appreciate your patience whilst I resolve the issue, and my apologies for the inconvenience caused.

If the Collection is yet to arrive with you, please don’t panic, you will also receive a replacement disc 14 as a separate delivery.

In the meantime, enjoy the other episodes and the team here are available via email or social media if you have any questions

Now I've just had a "Shipped" e-mail from Network, which must be for the replacement disc as it's got the identical order number as the DVD set.
