To those that have seen it; do you think that negative reactions would have been different had this been the movie that Prometheus had been in 2012?

It's opening in other countries sooner.

It opened in Brazil today, for instance.

Why is it wrong to want the very best film possible to compliment our beloved franchise?

Yeah I wanna be wowed too but not every film can blow our minds. This film is still sitting at 74% on RT and this thread is acting as if someone died. I don't get it. The majority of the reviews are positive. What am I missing here?

I think people would be very confused by it, and the prevailing thought would be that it was schizophrenic.

I'd say even worse than the CG Xenos in AVP: Requiem.

I don't remember the Alien effects being awful in that film, despite being engulfed by so...much...darkness.

Whelp looks like Scott caved in to crybaby fans that have the attention span of a two year old than do a serious science fiction film that follows in the footsteps of the wonderful albeit somewhat flawed Prometheus. I think it must be safe to assume that this franchise has been finally wrecked by it's creator. At least we still have the wonderful Prometheus and the classic Alien to rewatch for years to come.

I was supposed to be watching the movie right now, but something came up. Gonna go tomorrow. Until then, I can't even guess how many more spoilers will make it to the web by way of Fox themselves.

At least people in this thread who have already seen it are being considerate.

Don't leave out Alien 3. That movie's easily the last of the series with proper credibility.

I'd also say don't leave out Prometheus either, but that's way more YMMV to be honest.

Guys don't let a few people ruin it for you. a great majority of reviews are very very positive to mixed..... the bad ones are very few and far between.

I'm not trying to be a bad apple. I'm just not crazy for what i've seen so far and never really got around to saying that until now.

That said, I am still going to see it next week, hoping my low expectations will pay off.
