Default Garfield Alone (1989)

With Halloween having just past, I remembered a Garfield comic that is pretty creepy, if not downright scary. The comic was published 30 years ago in a series of strips that ran six consecutive days, from Monday, October 23, 1989 to Saturday, October 28, 1989. Garfield creator, Jim Davis, said he wanted to do something to scare people, but not in the traditional Halloween sense. He noticed that a lot of people mentioned that "being alone" or "dying alone" were the things that scared them most and he incorporated that into this series of strips. I loved Garfield as a child. Heck I still do, and this stuck with me, but then, I've always feared "being alone" and "dying alone" too. I'd love to have a 27" x 40" poster of Garfield Alone.
