It's been a while and I had forgotten how good the soundtrack is. Lots of Enter the Dragon style incidental music.

Ordered from Amazon AU:

Very excited for this Criterion. I know the quality of the disc itself doesn't vary greatly from the wide release but there's some quality new content—and that cover *chef's kiss*.

Not only is it a great animated film, it's a truly great film full stop.

Would have bought local, but I haven’t done so since Season 2, due, in part, to no Blu-Ray copy and the US release has better packaging (Season 1 offered a metalpak copy in both US and Aus).

Also, as a collector, it was best to round out the the series with similar packaging, since the news broke in early November that Season 5, the planned final season, was canceled after WB had lacklustre quarterly financial reports. Apparently, it was cheaper to pay out the actors salary of $10-15 million as opposed to the $100 million it cost to film another season.

The Westworld cancellation a season early was disappointing, since the consensus was that S4 was the best since S1.

Ugh, such bullshit. Hopefully they see sense and end up rounding it out with a movie just like Firefly/Serenity or Ray Donovan.

That would be ideal. Another HBO TV series that finished with a film (apart from the aforementioned Ray Donavon) was Deadwood. Although the creator was offered a shorter 4th season, he refused, as he wanted the ‘ole 13 eps, since a season portrayed 2 weeks chronologically in Deadwood.

Funny you mentioned Firefly since I recently had a discussion re; Sci-Fi TV getting the shit end of the stick when it comes to lack of closure and via abrupt cancellations. Other shows of note include:

V: The Series (2 seasons, ends on semi-cliffhanger)
Revolution (2 seasons, ends without closure following game-changing ending)
Caprica (ends with a montage setting up a second season).

I’m sure there are more, but those are 3 in the genre (along with Westworld), that really pissed me off, being an avid viewer and not getting a decent finish.

Ideally, it should be the goal of TV execs to ensure there is closure (notification/plans for a final season/finale with closure), and this was the situation with a show called The Following (a Kevin Bacon vehicle on network TV), that eventually finished with a 3 season run, with the showrunner knowing the 3rd would be it’s last. However, IMHO (and in the opinion of many other viewers), the show went off the rails in Season 2. NBC we’re on the fence about a 3rd season. Hence, they filmed an alternate ending for S2, that would have been satisfactory, had they been cancelled. The alt. end is on the S2 Blu-Ray. While there is a 3rd and final season, since it jumped the shark early in Season 2, I watched and accepted the alternate ending as the actual ending, since I heard Season 3 was a shitshow.

Calling season 3 a shitshow would be overstating things quite a bit. It's weaker than the first two but certainly nowhere near the nosedive taken by the likes of Dexter or Game of Thrones in their final episodes

I agree. I always thought that I was in a very small minority in liking OHMSS and George Lazenby as Bond.

I thought it was a good film and George was a good Bond. I don't have any issues with him in the role. Since his bond does a lot of uppercuts to the bad guys, he should be known as the "uppercut" Bond.

Today from Amazon UK:
- Doctor Who: The Collection Season 2
- Stand By For Action!

I'm not a Bond fan but I saw a great documentary about Lazenby's go at it called Becoming Bond. Well worth a look if you can find it.
