Based on this guy's previous works it looks like this isn't going to be any classier than the previous RES films. Whether it's a good or bad thing is to be seen.

![]() He’s still attached as a producer, though, so maybe, just maybe it won’t suck and/or deviate from the games too much? |

If they **** this up again then I just don't know. Easiest thing in the world to get right. Just make the movie version of the first game. Train set piece followed by characters trapped in the mansion slowly realising what's going on and fighting to survive.
So simple. |

I'll give this film a chance this weekend most likely, in theaters. Hopefully it's entertaining. That's all I can hope for, and that it resembles Resident Evil in some ways more than Paul WS Anderson's action movie versions, which missed most of the horror tone of the games big time.

Prey at Night is absolutely killer, no idea what you chumps are on about.
The words "Resident Evil" and "classy" don't belong with one another at all. That's just not what the franchise is about, never has been, never will be. Even the well-liked franchise entries - RE1 remake, RE4, RE7 and both versions of RE2, for example - are filled with tonnes of insane cheese. Don't get me wrong, I love them, by why anyone ever thinks that a Resi film adaptation is deserving of some horror maestro or something is completely beyond me. They deserve better than the Anderson trash, certainly, but that doesn't mean they suddenly deserve some high-tier immaculate piece of cinema, either. Silent Hill, maybe, but not Resi. |
