I know that with the Goldenear I can expect to hear overall better quality of sound but was curious would I have to give up my house shaking volume to get better quality? I like to crank my music pretty loud.

Thanks
GE speakers have excellent sensitivity specs (low 90's), meaning they will play very loud with very little power! They will play as loud as your Paradigm Studios and dig lower.

Thanks prerich, that has been my only real hold up on switching back to Goldenear.

Thanks

Default New GE Center

Hi, Well actually, we expect them in our warehouse next week. It incorporates 4 5.25" drivers, 3 passive radiators and the HVFR tweeter, of course. There are three internal chambers. The two outer 5.25" drivers, which are optimized as bass drivers, are coupled to their own individual passives (similar in size to the passives used in the SuperCenter XL) and roll off at the top end at about 600Hz. The two 5.25" drivers which surround the tweeter are coupled to their own passive, which is similar to the one in the SuperCenter X. There is a balanced crossover, as incorporated in the Triton One and Five. Similar in height and depth to the other SuperCenters, it is 35" wide. Retail is $1249. All the Best, Sandy

I think Sonic_debauchery is Sandy Gross. I have been following you on AVS forum and on other sites, Sandy Gross in reply always write (ALL the Best, Sandy). So Sir, I like your product . I own goldenear triton 2's, Super Centre Xl and Super Sat 3, But dont u think its wrong to promote your own product by hiding your identity.? You once said in this Thread that ''you are the medical student''.

Your speakers are awesome but i dont think this is the right way to market. Forgive me if i am wrong. Peace

Howdy everybody.

I just found this thread and wanted to get some imput from current GE owners.

After all that is said and done I am finally ready to upgrade my current system. I went to a reputable local audio dealer and auditioned a few different speakers some brands I was familiar with and others not so much. One set of speakers which were in my price range were the Triton 5s and they sounded fantastic. I wanted to get more opinions regarding GE in general since I am not to familiar with them.

I see PJ just got them last week. How do they sound? Highly recommended?

Also after reading all of Sonics input I almost went back and placed the order haha.

I'm going to pull the trigger this weekend and was a bit on the fence but after reading through this thread I think I am inclined to pick up the Triton 5s.

As for the center to match the 5s would you go with a SuperSat wall mount since my TV is mounted to the wall or go with a SuperCenter. Not sure which one if I go that route either the X, XL or XXL.

Any input would be appreciated gents.

Cheers,
CC-

The 5's will be amazing! Well as for the center channel. The XXL would probably be the best match, although i have not heard it. The XL i own and can tell you jumping from a SS50C to it, is night and day. Now the difference in price from the XL to the XXL, your ears will have to be the judge.

I run the XL with my T2's and it sounds great!

Thanks for input. SS50 is a no go and will listen to both XL and XXL but will most likely get the XL to save a bit.

EDIT: Thanks again for all your help SD including all the other posts in this thread from day 1 to now. Pulled the trigger on the GE's and will have to bring my old Sony receiver out of retirement for now to set up the speakers when they arrive. Now to look into a new receiver and sub in the next couple of months! The never ending quest for upgrades Appreciate all the help these forums have provided me.

Cheers,

My Triton 5's arrived along with the SuperCenter XXL. Unfortunately, I heard a rattling from the center and after I took of the cloth cover a piece was broken off so I am in the process of getting it replaced. Bummer but they are on top of it so its good to see solid vendors these days.

Here are a few pics:

Once I receive the replacement SCXXL I will upload more pictures into my gallery.

I placed it on 2channel for now to listen to some music and man, the Triton 5s have some kick to them!

Pictures look great and nice setup but you might want to pull out from the wall some and also depending where main seating is turn them inward a little.

I've come to realize how subjective speakers are to individuals. I heard a some nice things about Goldenear Triton 7's towers, went to listen to them and was not really impressed. They seemed a little harsh to me. How do the 5's sound in comparison to the 7's?
