I love this movie, and I really hope we get a sequel. I just read some stuff today that we should be getting one. I hope a bigger budget and a Code Veronica adaption. Longer and more push as far as marketing goes. Then the sequel might actually do very well.

Bigger budget? How about investing in a better story? The fact that it bombed on a low budget will not signal to the studio to spend more money on a sequel. Wishful thinking at this point.

There's a better chance of the Netflix series getting a second season than there is of RC getting a sequel.

Well of course I want a good story, I thought the story was fine, was it perfect no. But to be honest the games have pretty bad stories and have pretty bad scripts to be honest. And I'm a die hard RE game fan first. So it's never been high art and never will be. But I get you hate it and that's fine, I enjoyed it and want a sequel. No harm in that.

Are you going to give the Netflix series a chance or have you already decided against it like some on this forum?

I think the series pivot is a better decision that can actually give the live action franchise some longevity.

I plan on giving the series a chance, but would also like a sequel to this. Why can't we want both?

I've always loved the Paul WS Anderson movies, and I get trashed for liking those too. Just like this movie, I will definitely give the show a chance and I'm getting trashed for that also. Anything in the RE community that isn't a game gets trashed so I'm very used to it. Even the CG films which seem to be liked more, are regularly trashed as well from game fans. But yes I will be watching the show, and also hope for a sequel to this movie.

You can want them, but getting them is a different story. The economics don't make sense to make another RE film. They may do another CGI animated one, but live action will be on hold for quite a while until they decide when/what/how/where they want to take the live action story to.

I like the first 4 live action RE films. I hated how they squandered the characters that were introduced after Afterlife, because they wanted to make Alice the focal point and the new characters took that away from Mila. Talk about vanity.

The actor who played Wesker just did and interview and said that the sequel is probably going to happen and the studio was pleased with the success it had in the beginning of movie theaters opening up. It made money back, but not a lot. Now that movie theaters are fully back and they can make a good film, and invest in marketing, and fix some of the complaints of this movie. Then they could do much much better this time. There have been films that had sequels to movies that didn't make a whole lot of money, specifically cult films.

I hope they make an Alita sequel and that film technically bombed at the box office. But I believe they will still make one and I hope they make one.

I read it.

Funny enough, I thought he was also one of the worst parts of the film, along with making Leon a tool.

It can also be wishful thinking on his since part since he would obviously like the gig - it's work after all.

Ya I love part 1,3 and 6 the most. I know Final Chapter gets trashed, but it had a dark brutal vibe missing from some of the later sequels. The effects and makeup of the zombies was top notch too in Final Chapter. I also have a soft spot for Apocalypse for being pretty close to the actual game, it's just too goofy. And Retribution is pure fun trash, much like Resident Evil 6 the game.

Now you're talking.

I'll even take a series as long as it retains a high enough budget to make it look amazing just like the film. Disney should pony up the money for it.

Now if we could get a Resident Evil movie with a $100 million dollar budget, it would do extremely well. Money talks, and unfortunately movies with lower budgets that have fantastical imagery usually fail in mainstream cinemas. Imagine Alita being made for $25 million? The fact that Welcome To Raccoon City looks as good as it does, and let's be real the cinematography was beautiful I don't care what anyone says. Looked like a dark fairy tale, but the fact it even looked as good as it did. That should be applauded. Instead I hear how it looks cheap, when in reality it just looks like a modest budget film, Morbius looked cheap too and that had a massive budget. So I'm just saying some things are completely unfair when referring to the films faults technically.

The idea of a sequel possibly happening is good, cause I really did enjoy Welcome to Raccoon City.

I hope that article is right. I loved how the movie just oozed atmosphere. Hopefully we see more iconic BOWs. The actor who played Wesker did great. Chris was the highlight of the movie for me in terms of casting though.

Yes please to more. Bring back Johannes Roberts. Bring the cast back. Adapt 3 and CV. Save 4 and 5 for the next one.

I need this.

People might get confused on the different Weskers.
