Same here, love the more in depth critiques of movies, but also love the Critical drinkers funny take on things as well.

The fact that Netflix have dumped an unprecedented (for them) amount of BTS material and featurettes for Glass Onion onto their YouTube channel would seem to indicate that no physical release is in the offing. As if to say 'You want special features? There you go. Now hush'.

6/10
I prefer the first movie. I think Onion is quite funny but it has many situations that are hard to believe that added to other worthless scenes make a barely passable movie. And the performance of the two main characters was not very good.

Calling this film barely passable is bonkers. Some of you must not watch too many films if this is what you consider a bad film.

It's all subjective opinions, which in effect reviews are too, although not sure why people not liking this movie is an issue for you, your own opinion of this film should be the only one that matters to you. I liked this movie but it did not feel like a murder mystery to me, as a thriller it works very well, but I do prefer the first movie.

Knives out 9/10

Glass onion 6/10

Here's hoping for a miraculous 4K blu ray release.

If I recall correctly, Netflix has previously released some of their original productions on disc, so it is possible.

Hope it does, as the more movies are made by streaming services, the more certain movies are not going to get physical media releases. They just do not see this being worth it for some reason.

Glass Onion may get a physical release but they are looking at Glass Onion as sort of Agatha Christie/Sherlock Holmes/Clue version of the MCU. They want to create a cadre of films and off-shoots from Knives Out. Anyway, that's the thinking. But if subsequent films underperform they are just as happy to jettison the idea. So I was told.

Also, any films that have residual issues (DGA, WGA, SAG) tied to them will never see a physical release. They would rather bury it than have to pay residuals. This is the same for Amazon and Apple original content. This part was explained to me by a friend who is currently directing a series for Amazon and previously did one for Netflix.

That's impressive.
There was no real "how." And the why, was explained half way through and was pretty lame and silly.

Just watched this @ my sister’s house.

I didn’t think that it was as good as the first movie. I kept thinking that
[Show spoiler]Kate Hudson killed Andi.
Interesting story and just okay overall.

Netflix released Rian Johnson's commentary in the form of a podcast that you can sync with the movie, which you can find here.

I'm glad it's available but this is such a lazy way of implementing it, by basically not implementing it at all. Is it really that hard to add an option for it in the actual Netflix app?

It isn't, but I suspect that putting a director's commentary on Netflix itself (something that to my knowledge they've never ever done) would set a precedent that they'd really rather not introduce.

The aim of the game, after all, is data mining. Not adding to the overall level of enjoyment of the film lover. It sucks but there you go.

When Fincher recorded a commentary for the House of Cards pilot, Netflix let you stream it along with the episode.
