I've had an unopened DVD of the film for many years (I saw it in theaters and had no idea an additional cut was made) and just hadn't revisited the movie despite liking it. May have to move that up my list of things for rewatching if there's a decently different cut available, and sure enough the back of the DVD advertises both cuts being on it.

I need to watch more of his movies. I've only seen three so far. Nice to see Alien: Covenant getting some love. I thought most people hated it.

There are NOT enough people putting KOH-DC on their lists. How could anyone have Prometheus ahead of Kingdom of Heaven, DC version? How? Thats impossible and blasphemous and just.... NO way!

The DC of Kingdom really is fantastic. The ship sinking scene really illustrates making something out of nothing, editorially (I think that was in the TC?) but all the other additions really smooth out the rough patches (like Orlando's marysue-dom and acting talents).

I for one have never understood the Gladiator love, of course I haven't seen it since the theater 20 years ago. I'm surprised Black Hawk isn't getting much recognition either.

I haven't seen the dc of American Gangster nor did I hear it existed before

One thing I wish he'd finally make before he retires is that Napoleon movie (I think he took up the mantle from Kubrick?). That's my #1 wish

Kitbag, his Napoleon biopic, starts filming in January, but it's a completely different project from Kubrick's, which is being turned into a TV series by Cary Fukunaga.

Because Sci-Fi, even bad Sci-Fi, is almost always better and more interesting than these historical dramas.

I liked The Last Duel a lot more than I thought I would but in general I agree.
