Playing Metroid Fusion. I’m at the end and I was feeling pretty forgiving about how this compromises on the true Metroid style of unguided back and forth exploration but now I find out I’m not allowed to go back to the previous sectors to look for upgrades that I couldn’t get before.

What the hell? What were they thinking? Why? That’s worth taking a whole point off of this one’s score. Incredibly stupid.

Still playing season 1 in Diablo IV, but I am not enjoying it as much as I did the campaign. Killing the same monster twice, over and over, to get a "caged heart" has lost what marginal novelty it had.

I was given a gift of Baldur's Gate 3 and that is getting glowing reviews with a meta critic score of 96%, so I should try that instead.

And that’s that. I had enough health, fortunately. Good thing I beat Omega Metroid the first time - going back to do the SA-X fight again would have been extremely annoying.

This end game left a bad taste in my mouth. It’s good but Metroid Prime was 100% the better game. I finished up with 61% item completion in 6:03.

I just beat Soul Hackers 2. Felt so short compared to Persona games but it was SUCH a relief (in comparison to Persona 5 in particular) not to have gameplay tied to a high school schedule and not have a ranting crybaby of a cat in my face all the time. I doubt I'll play it again soon (as fun as it was), feels like it's time to finally go back to Yakuza and see if I can beat that one after a bit more grinding before the final tower.

Went back to Yakuza like a Dragon after 60+ hours of grinding for cash to beat the final dungeon with the best possible weapons. Absolutely destroyed the final dungeon, guessing I overdid it. Time to watch the credits for YLAD and then download Yakuza 0 so I can try that one out.

Super Princess Peach on DS. Relaxing game. On world 7 right now. Not a fan of activating abilities on one screen while playing on the other, especially in a platformer but it hasn't been a game breaker yet.

I ended up taking a break from Baldur's Gate 3 and starting Final Fantasy XVI. This might be one of my favourite FF games in years, I'm flying through it and loving every minute.

I am playing Days Gone for the 7th or 8th time (I lost count ), and I am loving that world... except those sloooooow-pacing "missions" with Sarah.

About 70 hours into Starfield. I think another 10-15 hours and I'll be "good" with it.
I think it's a good game, but damn if it isn't dated in a lot of ways. It takes what worked with previous Bethesda titles, and doesn't do much to expand on those better elements. So it feels dated, but if you like these games then it delivers.
At the same time, wow... the character animation looks like something from 2008. Yet, a lot of the scenery is quite nice in parts. Just - just, uh... don't zoom in close. From a distance it's amazeballs. Up close, it all looks like dated crap.

So I have a love/hate with the game. I am looking to finish the main storyline now, after trying to level up a lot to get there. Acquired most of the "powers", will get the rest. I finished the Crimson Fleet, UC/SysDef, Freestar Raiders missions. Almost done with Ryujin Industries missions. After that, I'll finish the Constellation missions (have 3 (?) left?). Then, I think I'm good.
Got my money's worth out of it. It was free with my purchase of the 7950X3D.

Working on a couple:

PS5:
  • Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order (working on my 2nd playthrough to refresh my memory on the story before Jedi Survivor was released. This was started before Jedi Survivor was released, but I'm a parent and some evenings, playing a story-based game is a grind.)
  • Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (This is my "I want to play a game, but I don't want to think" game.)

Xbox Series X
  • Saints Row (2021) (started this when I bought it, but shelved it for other newer games i.e. sports, CoD, Gotham Knights, Hogwarts Legacy, etc. Finally going back to it after I shelved the others)
  • WWE 2K23 (This is my "I want to play a game, but I don't want to think" game. I don't watch wrestling, but 2K22 offered so much nostalgia from the 90s watching WCW Monday Nitro and Raw is War. Anywho, I ended up grabbing 2K23 for even more nostalgia, but 2K22 was far superior, IMO for that.)
  • Fable (Been wanting go back and play this classic from the 360. Finally decided to spend the money. Harder than I remember, but maybe I'm more impatient with parrying and blocking now that I'm a parent and have limited time/attention span to play)

Nintendo Switch
  • Zelda: Breath of the Wild (My Switch doesn't get nearly the amount of love as the PS5 or Xbox Series X which is a shame. I'm sure I forgot the controls of it, but I just got Tears of the Kingdom, so I can't start over.. must chug on.)
  • FIFA 23 (This is my "I want to play a game, but I don't want to think" game. Saw this out in the wild at Target for $7.99. I hadn't played a FIFA game since like 2013. Haven't kept up with soccer since ManU became shit. With that being said, despite FC 24 being around the corner, this is my soccer game. I don't care who is on what team or this game being an exact replica of like FIFA 20 or 19. I haven't played in so long, and this is a nice game on the Switch)

Just started this for the first time, yesterday. Heard from multiple people (both personal and non) that the beginning is quite slow, but once you get past it, it truly is fun. I don't know, but I'm having fun thus far -- albeit I've only procured the bandages and brought them back. So, still very early in my gameplay.
