I had high hopes for Vanishing on 7th Avenue judging by the director and the cast but boy what a snooze fest!

Not a U.S. Blu. Not confirmed to be Region A (at least according to this site). Too much effort for me. I'd rather pay a buck and take the hit in PQ/AQ.

Didn't you get into an argument with strumdogg over this before?

(Sincerest appologies if one or both of you were not in the conversation I'm thinking of!)

Sawah still isnít in the database? I know thereís a few dudes on here who take the time to add them in. I can provide a picture of the cover, if needed. Same with Righteous Villains (in database, but no pic).

Here's some CD's I saw:

Antigone Rising-From the Ground Up (all chix)
Attika-Blood of My Enemies (Biohazard, Static X)
Bent Fabric-Jukebox (if you're craving Chris Peterson's favorite song, Alley Cat)
Wayne Brady-A Long Time Coming (he's serious about singing on this one)
Brides of Destruction-Here Come the Brides (DualDisc, members of Motley Crue & LA Guns)
Brooke Barrettsmith (American Idol)
The Colour-Between Earth & Sky
Crowded House-Intriguer (could not find the deluxe between 2 stores)
A Dream Too Late-Intermission to the Moon (Christian New Wave?)
Fields-Everything Last Winter
Eddie Floyd-Eddie Loves You So (Stax artist)
Enuff Z'Nuff-Extended Versions (this series is usually an abbreviated version of an existing live album, misleading title)
Every Time I Die-Gutter Phenomenon (produced by Machine)
Goldfinger-Disconnection Notice (hopefully this is the punk band I know from the 90's)
JP, Chrissie & The Fairground Boys-Fidelity (Pretenders)
Kids in the Way-A Love Hate Masquerade (Christian hair metal?)
Kids in the Way-Apparitions of Melody (w/DVD)
Rachael Leahcar- Here Comes the Sun (all Beatles covers)
A Life Once Lost-Hunter (w/bonus DVD, Ozzfest band)
Lillix-Falling Uphill (all chix)
Stanton Moore-III (drummer from Galactic)
Stanton Moore Trio-Emphasis (on Parenthesis) (I like this idea)
Allison Moorer-Getting Somewhere (produced by Steve Earle)
Remember Never-God Save Us
Sever Your Ties-Safety in the Sea (more Christian rock!)
Slaves on Dope-Over the Influence (Canadian metal)
Soundtrack-House of Wax
Soundtrack-The Matrix
Soundtrack-Soul Men (Samuel L. Jackson & Bernie Mac are a fictitious soul duo)
Story of the Year-In the Wake of Determination (members of The F Off and Dies!)
Various Artists-Jazz at the 19th Hole
Zao-The Fear Is What Keeps Us Here (FORMER Christian metal band)

I picked up anything metal or hard rock, and looked up other titles that looked interesting, to see if it would be up my alley. Look out for all those Christian rock bands they got!

Was really looking forward to the Every Time I Die CD. Machine produced 3 of Clutch's best albums. Real hard to take a band seriously when all they do is scream. To the trade box.

Amityville: Mt Misery Road aka I want to make a 70 minute vanity project with my attractive foreign girlfriend, show off my Florida mansion and I'll also include my rock ballad "Buzi has a nice booty" for the soundtrack.

This guy also knows nothing about cryptids by saying Moth Man sightings happened in New Jersey.

High on unintentional comedy, low in everything else.

My local Dollar Tree doesn't stock Blu-rays. Went there today and they had maybe 30 DVDs but not a single Blu-ray.

Never really thought of Kids in the Way as hair metal, but I did like their sound. I would have totally got Apparitions of Melody as it was one that I wanted when it came out. I also would have got Soul Men just because I love that movie. If I'm not mistaken, Jada Pinkett Smith was/is in Antigone Rising. Some famous actress was in that band, I only found out because of a feature on one of the weekend morning shows from the networks (likely CBS, but not sure).

I hope CDs start showing up at my local store, I remember buying some a long time ago there.

So, I went and watched Alien: Reign of Man:

It's by the same director and writer as Dawnseeker. It has one of the same actresses (whose character has the same name in both movies, but they seem unrelated as best I can tell). Both films focus on a situation in which humanity is dying and needs some substance from a foreign world to fix everything. Both have poor storylines, bad dialog, and special effects one would expect from very low budget sci-fi. Dawnseeker is the better film because at least a portion of it was cohesive and semi-entertaining. I had to watch Alien: Reign of Man in two sittings because it is beyond boring. It's a sci-fi movie in which little happens and the things that do happen are uninteresting and make little sense. That said, some of the effects and visuals of the movie were a little better than Dawnseeker, but it is abysmal.

I read some reviews that this particular release (A Love Hate Masquerade), musically and vocally has a pop metal sound. Have not given it a spin yet.

I appreciate the reviews of obscure DT movies like Alien: Reign of Man and Amityville: Mt. Misery Road mixed in because I never have time to read IMDB reviews on all the blind buys. Highlighting that Mt. Misery Road is a joke (which I confirmed on IMDB) puts it in the return/exchange pile. Not sure about the other.

Blurays are usually only a small portion of each box (maybe 0-6 per box of 30) and tend to sell out on the first couple days when they are put out, so while your store could've gotten only a few boxes and no Blurays, most likely they got some and they were long gone before you got there.

I stopped by one store and they still had three boxes mostly untouched. Too bad there was nothing I wanted.

After being fairly underwhelmed by my first trip to the nearest several DTs, I stopped by my local store and found that they had quite a few more blu rays out since they first set up the display. Grabbed 8 more titles. It looks like this is another wave where stores got more stock than they had space for out front, so it might be worth stopping by the same stores on occasion.

Came across these at one of my stores:

I was surprised to find Semi-Pro among this wave. Had to snatch it up quickly due to it being the only copy.
